Is there anyone that works with Freyja willing to share their experiences/UPG?

No thwappage on my part, but I have been seeing signs and parallels that suggest that she may be someone I should, and would like, to get to know. It feels arrogant for me to say that I think she might have taken an interest, but I am willing to admit to a couple interesting coincidences. (I am not passing judgment on other people's assessments of their relationship with their deities. I do believe that gods can and do choose people. It is simply my own self-depreciating brain and acknowledgement of a tendency to seek significance in every little thing talking here.)

Mostly I would just like to hear stories: seeing what people are willing to share about their personal relationships with their gods is always fascinating and one of the reasons I love this forum. However, I will also not say no to book or other resource recommendations; one can never have enough to read.

All UPG here. My fiancee follows Freyja (and Odin for that matter). I've had... well, I don't know what to call them, but I get feelings that I think are from Her. Please, take them with a grain of salt because they very well could be all in my head.

She is not a fluffy goddess, not all sex and fertility; I find Her very fierce and independent. That isn't to say She doesn't care; She is fiercely protective of my fiancee, and I get feelings of a "I'll-tolerate-you-because-he-loves-you" sort of way. She has anything against me personally, but She just cares about my fiancee. He's been "Hers" for a long time, far before he met me, so I think She is making sure I'm good to him. However, since we had our baby, She's warmed considerably (or so I feel), going as far at coming to me in a dream (alongside Odin) and telling me They will protect me (not exactly sure what They meant though).

Anyways, please take that with a grain of salt. It's all based on feelings I get whenever I talk to my fiancee about Her, or when I pray to Her about my fiancee when I feel he needs it, or when when I'm just thinking about Her to myself.

I'll ask my fiancee if he doesn't mind me sharing his experiences with Her.

The character of Penny Lane from Almost Famous reminds me of Freyja. That laid-back, free-spirited, sexy and sweet persona. And I suppose some of Penny Lane's sadness (beneath the surface) is in Freyja, as she searches for Od. Anyway, I like Freyja; she's an approachable and charming goddess.

Me too - especially the second one (the fluffy thing she's wearing in the first one doesn't seem quite as characteristic of what she'd wear as the embroidery-type patterns in the second outfit do), but they're both strikingly Freyja-esque.  Apparently I should see that movie:).

Yep, the second one for sure. The first only mainly for the mischievious smile, and possibly all bundled up in a wintery mead hall.

(BTW, Kate Hudson herself doesn't remind me of Freyja. I just wanted to be clear on that, lol. Any other movie or pic with her, there's no resemblance or thought of it. It's the attitude that KH bought to life as Penny Lane that reminds me of Freyja.

ETA: You should definitely see it, Sunflower. Excellent movie.

I like how you described her.  As I mentioned before in another thread the first Norse Deity that I experienced was Njord.  At the time I had been agnostic for years and denied that I felt the presence and even though on those days I would see his name everywhere and I completely misinterpreted it at the time and swore I was obsessed with Fjords...  

But back to Freyja, she to me is beauty and strength.  I get the sadness vibe but she isn't going to drown in her own tears.  She very driven and determined.  I like the first picture as the feather boa reminds me of her cloak of falcon feathers.  The image I get of her since you brought up character/actors is if Mae West (her popular characters which I couldn't name right one now) and Xena were merged into one person.  I know that sounds cliche but its the best I can do with trying to describe something that is well overwhelming.

From Freyja I get the impression of radiating like the sun that drives everything's growth and beautifies everything around her.

I know it's not canon, but I've encountered her as battle maiden commanding her squad riding on a beautiful horse, accompanied by ravens.

Ok i'm new to all this - BUT after having what can only be described as a ' lightning bolt ' wake up call to discover what I was searching for I had encounters in many ways with assorted spirits/deities - call them what you may

Anyway - behind all of the confusion that goes on while I was trying to make sense of everything was a calming influence - kind of like oil being poured on water.

Freyja is - or seems to be - my soul mates protector , and as i also seem to have been appointed her healer has taken over my introduction to the craft - she said the others were just confusing me :-) but at pains to make it plain that She is not calling me - i have to decide that myself

i agree - NOT fluffy  - in fact often she can be bossy , directive if she isn't getting the result that she thinks is required ,but at the same time kind and patient when its obvious I have no perception of what it is i need to do and how. She has a habit of talking in riddles  - and can have a strange sense of humour -  several times I have 'felt ' her laugh when she thought something i did was strange or funny - BUT i do like the FEEL of her - even if She does lecture me on ' being more open and exploring my potential '

I know i havn't put it over very well - but its still too ew for me to explain properly - but i think everyone has a different experience based on their past lives - some of the spirits feel familiar to me so I can just accept them - others  - well lets just say I need to see them fuller.
