You need a spell to expose a cheater?  And here I thought you could just, you know, talk to the cheated-upon.

Exactly. That's why I dont want to expose him directly. But if he could be exposed through spellwork, then perfect. She doesn't need to waste any more time on him. She already puts up with too much.

To be honest, I don't think a spell to expose a cheater is what you need right now, and to be further honest, I don't think magic is what you need right now. I understand wanting to help your friend, I do, but it's her life, and I don't think you have a right to go around upsetting it -- however kind and loving your intentions may be.

Also, have you considered how much "catching him in the act" might hurt her? Especially if she has no idea what's going on, and thinks their marriage is fine.

If you're friends and you think she should know, then you should try to talk to her and be supportive. Don't set up a scenario that will make the situation harder for her and cause her un-necessary pain.

I have a friend who's in a similar situation, although she knows her bf is cheating.  

She knows and it upset her so much that she had a mental breakdown and was in the psych ward for a while.  

They're still together.  

I don't know your friend's situation, so perhaps things would improve for her if she caught him in the act and moved on.  But there are some people who won't move on and will only be hurt more severely.

Is she so deeply invested in a delusion of marriage? If so, how will that help her? If she has some other reason to want to maintain the relationship (children? Support? She's happy with it as is?) are you willing and determined to rip that away from her?

Are you only willing to do it if she can't blame you for telling her?

Are you certain he's cheating? Are you certain it's not a misunderstanding or an open relationship?

If you're sure of all those answers, you might consider appealing to a god of justice like Tyr, or a goddess like Hera who would understand the situation. However, I'd warn you to check your motives carefully because that's the kind of thing that can backfire.

I don't know of any spells to specifically do what you want. There are spells to "reveal the truth" which could work in this situation, but the truth might not be the obvious "the man is cheating on his wife" -- the truth might be something deeper than that.

Seconded. It's a matter of ethics. If it is something you wouldn't do without magic, because it is ethically wrong, then you shouldn't be trying to do it with magic.
