Help finding some New Age music please
« on: March 03, 2013, 11:47:00 pm »
So I've recently started listening to some New Age music and was wondering if there  are any artists people would recommend. One thing I am specifically looking for is something that sounds like this:

Though any others would be fairly appreciated. Please and thank you!

Well, personally, I like Enigma and Sacred Spirits - I'll try posting some videos when I get home tomorrow (work computer is video blocked)

Also just a by thought since that video was from the BSG opening - look up "The Inner Light Ochestral Suite" from Star Trek:TNG. I can sit and listen to that over and over - it is very peaceful and calming to me.
I\'m living in the Shadows and the Night, wrapped in warm darkness, safe and sure.

New age music means it's kinda paganish? I am assuming it is. Sooo... That being the case,  is there any that's more... Upbeat, fast, sounds like hip hop, pop, alternative, etc? For me the songs listed here make my headaches worse. I like some alternative, rap, hip hop, pop, etc. I hate country, classical, techno, ballads, or instrumental.

You might want to check out Sussan Deyhim, as well as her collaboration with Bill Laswell. A taster:

Look up Vangelis as well. And Era, of course.

I don't so much knew about the flute, but their two older ones should work. As Dark Waters said, definitely Enigma. And try Gary Stadler, as well.
