Equinox & Full Moon--Together!
« on: March 20, 2019, 07:43:25 am »
The March equinox (spring equinox in the northern hemisphere, fall equinox in the southern) occurs today, the 20th, at 5:58 pm EST...while the moon reaches peak fullness only a few hours later, at 9:43 pm EST, so that they effectively coincide.

Major astronomical mojo!
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

Major astronomical mojo!

Major magical mojo as well -- at least in some systems of magic.

OH yes. It's like the air is full of bees today.

Doing anything fun? I'm heading out to the woods with a bottle of wine and a bunch of homemade blueberry scones for a little private ritual.

Huh. I thought it was just me - I can't seem to concentrate on anything and my scalp feels like it's vibrating.

Major astronomical mojo!

It's strange because the moon has been clear in the sky every day here for a week now; even during the day! It's also been very clear weather for the first time in months in Kentucky. I felt like Indra, Surya, and Soma were trying to tell me something, I believe I new know what it was!

It's weird because I very rarely feel divine lunar associations, and I have right now - doubt it's a coincidence.
"The worshippers of the gods go to them; to the manes go the ancestor-worshippers; to the Deities who preside over the elements go their worshippers; My devotees come to Me." ... "Whichever devotee desires to adore whatever such Deity with faith, in all such votaries I make that particular faith unshakable. Endowed with that faith, a votary performs the worship of that particular deity and obtains the fruits thereof, these being granted by Me alone." - Sri Krishna

Yeah, you guys have fun. I did my spring time rites yesterday and I’ll be at work tonight. I feel like it’s close enough to get a piece of the magic though, hopefully.

Overcast & rainy, here.

If I wanna see a full moon, I'll have to pull down my pants and aim my ass at a mirror.

Not pretty.

I have a tradition ritual which, since I took it over, has firmly wanted to be on the spring equinox, so I did that last night (waiting until just after equinox here). We're doing our coven ritual on Saturday.

Definitely felt some interesting energies in the air!

Definitely felt it with my students on Tuesday. They were super energetic and off the walls. Except the class that usually is like that wasn't ... They were calm as still water. Very strange.

I will say that I've felt a personal energetic shift. More energy, more patience and optimism, and communications. Very grateful for all that now.

Only tangentially related, but about ten years back we had a Halloween "trunk or treat" at our church for the local kids, along with a small carnival and a DJ. That night was perfectly clear with one of the biggest full moons I ever remember. I went to the disc jockey and said, "I think I see a Bad Moon Rising!" He agreed, and a little CCR went on the program that night!
