the Goddess Skadi

The other night I had a dream where someone told me to find the goddess skadi. I know it was a sign telling me to learn about her. I thought it was a bit odd since  I had only herd of her once and that was like a month ago. so my question is... could anyone tell me about her. I realy feel like I need to know her.

The other night I had a dream where someone told me to find the goddess skadi. I know it was a sign telling me to learn about her. I thought it was a bit odd since  I had only herd of her once and that was like a month ago. so my question is... could anyone tell me about her. I realy feel like I need to know her.

 
How interesting it is you say you were told to find Her in a dream!! The exact same thing happened to me. I saw Her on a snowy hill, a wind whipping about, and several wolves laying at Her feet. She told me to "Find me." At the time I had no idea who She could possibly be, so I spent a long time researching before finding out that this Goddess with wolves was Skadi. Okay. So, She's the daughter of the Giant Thiazzi/Thjazi, who was killed by the Gods of Asgard. She dressed Herself in armor and went to confront the Gods, intent on avenging Her father. She was told She could have a husband from among the Gods, and that the Gods would have to make Her laugh in recompense for Her father's death. She was allowed to choose freely among the Gods, but only by their feet! She wished to marry Balder, so She chose the best-looking pair of feet, but they turned out to belong to Njord, God of the Sea. Loki did his bit in making Her laugh, and (in some stories) Odin threw Thiazzi's eyes up into the sky to become stars. Her marriage with Njord did not go well. Skadi is the Goddess of Winter and of Skiing, so Her hall was in the snowy mountains, where the wolves howled. Njord could not abide the sound, and got no sleep there. They decided to only spend nine nights between their homes, and so after nine nights in the snowy hall, there would be nine nights in His watery abode. Skadi could get no sleep either, for the calling of the seafowl and the rushing of the waves were not sounds She was used to, and the two eventually decided to part ways. Some stories have Her marrying Odin and bearing sons, but many today believe She married Ull/Ullr afterward, a God of skiing and bowhunting and therefore quite accustomed to snowy mountains. I do not think that the Ullr marriage is in the tales, but if it is, I am sorry I forgot it. That is about all I can tell you about Her, however. I'm not very good at prayer/communicating with Gods, so it's something I have to learn how to do better.
