I’m sure I will get more comfortable with keeping Brighid’s flame as time goes on. I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out how best to keep the flame this week, and I ultimately decided to go with an actual flame in the form of a candle. Unfortunately, my local Catholic shop doesn’t sell any Brighid candles; (the Saints who are commonly venerated in Mexico are what they carry; Celtic saints aren’t popular around here). So, I burned a St. Michael candle; I’m sure Brighid won’t object to sharing her flame with another power in that way, especially one from Catholicism.
In future I might come up with more elaborate ways of honoring Brighid as a Goddess, since that’s primarily how I see her, but for now I think this is enough for my first shift.
