2019 Donation Drive

It's time for our annual Server Donation Drive! We need to raise at least $650 (same as last year) to keep The Cauldron's server online for another year. Please help! Either hit that Paypal button to the right and make a one-time donation in any amount or set up a monthly Bronze, Silver or Gold Donor subscription. You can find more info in this message!

Donations as of 16 Sept 2019: $660 donated. $10 more our minimum goal! Let's beat last year's total of $99 more than the minimum!

Note: This total is updated manually, usually once a day

* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Unverified, and *unverifiable* Personal Gnosis
« on: July 12, 2019, 08:38:12 pm »
I had considered putting this in one of the social/fun forums, since it's basically a headcanons thread, but one with a bit more depth and meaning for some of us as pagans.

Recently I felt a request for an offering of music from a band that certainly didn't exist or sound like anything that did exist in my patron's lifetime.  Worst case scenario, I'll have downloaded some good workout tunes that I would have overlooked( as having been adjacent to, but not actually a part of, my personal interests when I was in the regular music listening/clubbing stage of life) if not for feeling his weirdly excited vibes about it.

But it just made me wonder what, if not too personal, you all have in the way of odd, distinctly modern offerings, if any.

Hi, Ashmire - I'm wondering if you particularly want to limit the thread to UPG regarding offerings (and similar), in which case I'll adjust the thread title to include that, or if you are up for other kinds of UPG. (Or even, possibly, some meta-discussion about 'unverified'/'unverifiable', of which both are generally considered to be included in the initialism.)

I guess I hadn't thought about it that much.  My mind was more towards making it a slightly light-hearted thread, and I guess I was mentally dividing types of UPG into offering requests (which are often humorous, IME) vs. deep unsettling insights behind the scenes of How the Universe Works (which are, well, unsettling).

But in fact that's not always the case even in my own practice, let alone for everyone, even if it seems to be a majority.   I guess what I meant is, I don't particularly want big manifestos on the whole nature of the Universe here, we have those elsewhere.  This is about the smaller things, which are, personally, what tend to keep me going spiritually most of the time.

Well, I've felt for several years that the personalities of my Godhead are all Star Trek fans, ranging from enthusiastic to obsessive...and that they're busy laying the groundwork for some day "making it real."

My patron once directed me to make a small Twine game as a birthday gift for another dead rock star whom he had deeply admired in life but never gotten the chance to meet.

I later learned that this was part of his plan to seduce his old celebrity crush on the astral plane.

... Do you know if it worked out?

I have reason to believe it did.
