* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Seems kind of ironic/deeply hypocritical coming from the US government.  Its kind of a shame that the world's most powerful democracy was built on the back of cultural and literal murder.

Yeah U.S. history is blatantly whitewashed in many ways.

To add on to Stephyj's post when I heard the term growing up it was intended to describe someone that would give a gift then take it back, it was always used disparagingly and I took it to refer to the NA/FN people's welcoming European settlers & then 'taking back' the welcome via land disagreements etc. Double standard like whoa

There may also be some disconnect since there is likely little direct interaction with actual NA/FN persons given your location.

I had a friend once that didn't realize that saying they were 'gyped', 'jewed down' or that someone 'welshed' on a deal - were all racist figures of speech. He'd grown up hearing everyone using them as a matter of course. I imagine that since he and his family/friends had little if any interaction with those people & cultures he simply never made the connection until it was pointed out.

My guess is something similar happened with you.

Thats the best way to put it.  At least I know better now.

Erm, yeah. If I welcome you into my house, then you trash it and try to move me out of it, you'll have worn out your welcome there, too. Just sayin'.

It's a good book that comes from one of the many different flavours of heathenism. Although I believe Paxson has moved away now from strict recon heathenism, this book was written before that and I've really only heard good things about the content of it, kind of like what SatAset said. It's certainly not a be all end all type of book. I don't think one exists. :P

AFAIK, Paxson was never "strict recon" - she was one of the leaders in the early development of modern heathenism, but in those early stages, heathenism was proto-recon at best.
