(If this is in the wrong place, please move, mods! This was my best guess but it's kind of a multi-category thing...)

So I have ADHD and this means I can never decide how I want to do things. I get very excited about a notebook, but sixty pages in I realize I don't want to take 200 pages of notes on Tarot cards in that book, or I don't like the paper color, or now I want to paint meditations on goddesses... or heck, I just lose the notebook, or don't want to carry three notebooks and a planner around with me, even though I often want to study/journal when not at home.

Well, I had an early birthday, and this is what I got:

It's called a traveler's notebook, and it's the indecisive person's journalgasm. If you're not familiar, basically, it's a cover, and you can add from one to seven or more little notebooks inside, and it's easy as hell to make your own notebooks.

A lot of people use them as planners. Mine is my planner, but it's also where I'm going to keep Tarot notes, notes on spells, my goddess work and studies, nature sketches, meditations, other spiritual stuff, etc.

It's also fat, and I love fat leather-bound notebooks:

It has pooockets!!! (That's not my info on that card. It's a card for a yoga studio I picked up somewhere.)

A bit of cover art:

Just thought I'd share! I'm super excited about having a flexible place to keep notes on my practice and spiritual explorations since it's ever evolving and I have the attention span of a lobster. And I figure if something is working for me, it might work for somebody else. I love the idea of a gorgeous illuminated book where I keep all of my deep magical and spiritual wisdom (that I definitely don't have at this point), but the odds of me ever completing such a thing are nil and would paralyze me anyway at this point in my spiritual journey. (Btw, the original Midori traveler's notebooks are kinda expensive, but mine is from Amazon, and if you live in the US Michael's apparently has a super cheap faux-leather version if you're poor like me and don't have a convenient birthday coming up.)

OOOohhhh!  I've seen these before, and loved the idea of them, but never really sorted out in my head what I might use them for.  I LOVE the idea of using each little booklet for a different topic.

You could even have other traveler's notebooks, one for each subject, to keep the books in as you fill them up (so eventually  you might have a whole traveler's notebook just for tarot stuff, but your current book you are working in would be in the book you carry with you).

Hmmm...I may have to buy more notebooks (hubby is not going to like that lol)

Well, that idea just solved "what the heck do I do with the full notebooks". Thanks! That would be a good use for the cheap Michael's ones, I guess.

Very nice! That's a great way to organize your spiritual/magical record keeping IMO.

I've seen a lot about traveler's journals in the bullet journalling community. I might eventually give them a whirl but first I need to make it through the notebooks I already have. (And I just bought another one...sigh. >.<)

This is mostly why I got my traveller's notebook, too. I got mine for Christmas last year. I saw a youtube video of someone who used it as a BoS and I got inspired to use it as a travel BoS, since you can take the notebooks out and switch them around. I had this grand plan for notebooks for different subjects and types of rituals and magic that I could switch around when I needed them, but honestly, I am pretty happy with the way I have it now.

The first book is a mini BoS, with all sorts of spells and whatnot in it. The next book is a journal. After that, two books I made that are used as simple planners for lists and note-taking and project ideas and other things. One of those planner books will probably come out once that project is done, and then I might put another book in there. It's pretty good, though. I take it with me everywhere, and I love using it. I've never been one to take a diary or journal or planner with me, but I do now. I really love mine. <3

I mighta gone with 'Faith in Everyday Life', myself, or 'Miscellaneous Religious Discussions' since that's the 'ubiquitous other' catchall category, but here isn't wrong enough to bother moving (we mostly only do that when something is in a definitely-wrong category).

Oooh, nifty! But, do I like it because I have a use for it, or do I like it because Pockets!!! Cubbyholes!!! Stationery!!!? I can't always tell (which probably has something to do with my attention-differe... was that a squirrel?).

We do have Michael's in Canada; I should check to see if they carry those.

Yay for not being entirely wrong! Lol

And I mean, I won't lie and say pockets and stationery aren't high on the list of reasons I wanted this, but also cute little books to keep spells, rituals, and notes in?

I think I have it narrowed down to seven little books:
-A personal journal of sorts.
-A book of tarot notes
-A planner and book of lists
-A sketchbook
-A book of nature-related rituals
-A book of candle magic notes and spells
-Another catchall spiritual and magical notes book.

I'm sure that arrangement will last for a few months and it'll evolve again.

The official grimoire bit. I love how it turned out considering I made it from stuff I had lying around my apartment.
