Can a spell be cast without haven done the ritual?

Hi everyone,

I am fairly new at casting spells, i don't do it often. I like to work with nature and put my efforts in celebrating the esbats and Sabbats. However when I do cast a spell I write the spell and the ritual for it. Well this time, I wrote a spell and ritual to break ties to a dying/dead relationship or bring light back to a flowering one. I wrote everything out hree days ago but did not do the ritual and "technically" did not cast the spell. But after writing the spell the result of the would be cast spell, happened and I found my answer and my ties are broken with the person.

I would like to know if it was just a coincidence that after writing out the spell that the result of the "would be cast spell" came about? Or can you actually cast a spell without doing the ritual for it and it stills work?

Magic doesn't require ritual unless you believe it does. Your intent and will can work magic without ritual. However, that does not rule out coincidence in this particular case.

 In my oppinion even people that have no relations with magick practicing can unconsciously cast a minor spell while under extreme emotions, and I believe that it happens all the time. So my answer is yes.

Yes  - I've found that just preparing and writing the spell can give sufficient intent for it to work.
