* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Non-animal familiars
« on: March 29, 2014, 11:39:59 am »
Hello! I know there are lots of threads on familiars, but I thought I'd start one just to focus on familiars that are not animals. These can be plants, spirits, or objects. And I'd love to see pictures!

I have one familiar that is a spirit inhabiting an object. Specifically, it's a thought form tied to a doll. I might count another of my dolls also inhabited by a similar thought form as my familiar, but he doesn't seem to give me the same kind of energy, even though he seems to want to be my familiar.

The thought form was created over several years, as I labored to write a novel. I still haven't written that novel, but I put (and am still putting) so much energy into the story that the narrator literally came to life. I eventually began collecting expensive art dolls - Asian ball jointed dolls. I took them to represent the characters in my novel, and likewise expended a great deal of energy into them. Thus, Joren came to be tied to the doll I picked to represent her.

This is her. She's about as tall as a barbie doll (a little smaller - 10.5 inches as opposed to 11) but obviously proportioned like a child. She has very positive energy, and is incredibly helpful and sweet. I just love her!
KARMA: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I don't have any familiars, but someone doing work in non-animal familiars is Luna at Therioshamanism. She writes a lot about plant totems:

Thanks for that link. I was only going to glance at it and then Lupa's post about Oak Moss kicked me square in the shins. That's definitely gonna leave a mark.
