I saw a flying broomstick!
« on: July 19, 2011, 06:08:39 pm »
First of all this isn't any joke. I'm beign serious. I came here because I thought that you all, being witches, could provide answers.

Here's what happened:

Two nights ago, around 8 I guess, my neighbors cat was under my house for the 100th time meowing loudly. I walked over to my neighbors house to once again, beg them to keep their cat out of my yard. My neighbors are two older women, bestfriends that moved in together after their husbands died. Through casual conversation over the past couple of years, I've discovered that they study witchcraft of some sort. Whether it's that dark magic stuff, I don't know, but I don't think so. Anyway, when I went to complain about the cats they said their usual, "Oh we're so sorry, it won't happen again." I went bat home and went to bed. Sometime early in the morning something crasehd through my window. I jumped out of bed thinking someone was breaking in, turned on the light, and laying in my floor, was a broomstick! After getting over my few seconds of initial shock, I went to pick it up, and it lifted straight off of the ground! It hovered for a second and before I could react it flew straight out the window! When I got to the window, it was gone and I have no idea where it flew off to.

No, I'm not some kind of crazy, of crackpot, I'm a highschool teacher, live in a normal neighborhood, with a normal life. I don't know if it was my neighbors playing a trick on me or what, but I don't think it was a trick. It is not possible that it had a string on it or anything, a string wouldn't cause it to hover. I have not filed a complaint with the police because they will rightfully think I'm a nut. I know that broomsticks are straight out of the movies, that witches don't use them, but there was a broomstick laying in my floor! My question is, do you think my neighbors are reponsible, and how is this possble?

Sorry, but I don't buy it. I don't know what actually happened, but what you are reporting here is very unlikely to be it. Perhaps you were half-dreaming or not fully awake, or doped up on medicine or something else.

If they installed a series of electromagnets under your floorboards in that room and had polar opposite magnets inserted into the broomstick then I guess they could have pushed it through the window whilst you were asleep with a fine tether attached, upon waking up you then might have seen it hovering at which point they pull on the tether to drag it out.... but unless the broom was hovering at the height of the window it would have banged into the wall on its way out so.... that's all I can think of according to science if they were trying to fool you, otherwise ask them to teach you and let us know how to do it !!!!

Ok here's  my take on this... first  you said in your post that the  broom  crashed thru your  bedroom window, in the morning when you woke  up was the  window  still broken? If not  it was a  dream. Secondly  there wouldn't have to  be a string attached to a broom  to  make it  fly thru a window,  hover and   then  fly  back out the window. Some  30lb tess fishing  line and a  15ft  sturgeon  rod  would do the  trick.... ermmm  trust  me on the fishing line and   rod thing. Thirdly   witchcraft  isn't  what you see in  movies  or on t.v. it's not  all  flying  brooms and  making things move on their own and  tossing  people  about with  a  slight of hand. So I'm going  to vote on the side  of it  was most likely  a very  vivid  dream. :)

Usually if witches have the power to levitate things they don't waste that power to freak out the neighbours. It's much easier to walk around the yard starkers.

:giggle snort:
Haha, you mean 'skyclad' ? :D

Anywho, if someone had the power to truly fly on a broom stick, I think they'd keep it to themselves.
