I'm being overrun! Please help!

Thank you. I read somewhere that garlic helps if its consumes by people and animals. Know if this is true?

I also have some DE which is crushed shells but I don't know if it works on fleas.

 
DE is great for bed bugs too.  You'd put a bit in a margarine container and have it under each leg of your bed so that they won't crawl up.  The only thing to keep in mind with DE is not to have too thick a spreading on the floors.  It could cause breathing problems if inhaled for prolonged periods of time.

I've had fleas for a few weeks. At first not bad (due to a momma kitty with newborns I brought in) and a few days ago I sprinkled salt where I could. Normally this works great. However I think because only two of my rooms have carpet, the rest are hardwood, and I can't put salt on hardwood since it leaves tiny dots (which is not my decorating motif) anyways I think that's why it didn't work. It seems as if the last two days there was a population explosion. No one can walk in the house, let alone my room(where the babies were) without attracting a few dozen(literally) biting monsters. The baby (2yrs) was screaming this morning and covered in at least 40. Idk what to do. I have pets and children and so I'm not too fond of bombing my house. Help! Please!

Also I know fleas can cause animals to get sick. I don't have the best immune system. I also take a lot of aspirin. So I bruise and bleed easily. So I'm worried. If there were only a few fleas it wouldn't bother me, but we are talking literally hundreds here. I'm actually probably guessing way below the amount. I am refusing to even use my bathroom now because that many jump on me. I would rather stay out side in the humid 100 degree weather than be inside and fight off bugs.

 
I had to deal with them in college.  A housemate's boyfriend brought in a couch filled with them (he had a dog).  She swore up hill and down dale that it was fine.  I got bitten badly and had a reaction.

I was told that if you get garbabe bags, put your clean laundry in them after using hot water wash and hot dryer.  There's a chemical film in and on garbage bags that repel bacterial etc from spreading.  Tie the bags tightly and the little darlings won't be able to survive long.  It you've a cold room (ie root cellar or garage in winter), it would definitely help kill htem off too.

There's a site called bedbuggers.com that might be of help.  There are prfessionals there on the forum as well as those dealing with buts (fleas, bed bugs etc).  Hoping the mods won't mind this plug (I apologize if I'm not allowed to promote this).
