Epidote
« on: March 06, 2018, 05:56:55 am »
Does anyone use epidote in their work with rocks/crystals?

If so, what do you use it for? How do you use it?

Thanks!

Ah now that's an interesting mineral..

Yes - I have quite a lot of epidote. Due to a geological anomaly it's a naturally occurring mineral close to where I live and I've collected quite a lot of it over the years. I tend to only use stone and crystals that are found locally to me which avoids the ethical problems of crystal mining and I also find them more potent, more attuned to me than non local minerals.

I have a largish piece ( about the size of a large fist) that sits on my ancestral altar. I find it amplifies my connection with the mighty dead.

Interesting!

Can you elaborate on how you use it and / or how it helps you (if that's not too personal)?

I actually didn't get it for that use - I added it to the altar as a suitable green rock as a nod to the emerald in Lucifer's crown as I don't have much hope of getting a piece of raw emerald from an ethical source.

I've been doing quite a lot of experimental work lately which is ancestor led. It's been a long slow build up but since adding the epidote to the altar the pace has speeded up considerably.  It seems to have cleared the communication channels and they are impatient for me to move ahead. I'm now getting results and  getting glimpses of things that I did not expect.  I'm not sure what I did expect really - but that is rather the point of pushing at the boundaries and it is somewhat unsettling at times!

Thanks! That's really interesting.

And might really work for me, as I'm currently working (to the extent that I have enough brain to work on anything) on exactly that kind of communication.

Complete tangent but speaking as someone who's trying to collect Luciferean imagery and stuff can you point me to a reference for that emerald thing? Not one I've encountered before!

Thanks.

I'm not sure there is anything that even approaches academic justification but the legend goes that when Lucifer was cast from the heavens an emerald was lost from his crown and later fashioned into the holy grail  so you have all the grail mythology tied up in it too along with all the conspiracy theories that go with it. There's a hint in Ezekiel 28 but I think that's as close to a primary source as it gets.

It's embedded deep in my tradition as part of the working practice.  This article sums it up quite well ( although it argues that the emerald was in fact moldavite!) http://www.patheos.com/blogs/matauryn/2017/07/15/moldavite/

If it helps, I remember Wolfram von Eschenbach alluding to this legend in his iteration of Parzifal.
