I think he's referring to Pike Place Market, which is a sort of decades-old rambling multi-floor waterfront marketplace of little stalls and shops and hawkers and florists and tables full of vendors some of whom sort of vanish while your back is turned. It's touristy, but it also feels like those goblin markets in fantasy novels, like you could find anything there, if you were there at the right time and paid the right kind of attention. I once got a beautiful obsidian-and-bone ritual knife there from a mysterious little old man whose stall was empty when I came back that way a few minutes later.

Yeah. I don't know how else to describe the place; it's obviously a tourist trap, but it's also more than that, and very much has its own energy. So that's likely a factor here as well.

Is it possible that someone else in the complex is actively doing something that's blocking the energies from getting in?
