2019 Donation Drive

It's time for our annual Server Donation Drive! We need to raise at least $650 (same as last year) to keep The Cauldron's server online for another year. Please help! Either hit that Paypal button to the right and make a one-time donation in any amount or set up a monthly Bronze, Silver or Gold Donor subscription. You can find more info in this message!

Donations as of 16 Sept 2019: $660 donated. $10 more our minimum goal! Let's beat last year's total of $99 more than the minimum!

Note: This total is updated manually, usually once a day

* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Using Tarot in Magic?
« on: May 30, 2012, 06:07:10 pm »
Okay, something else I was pondering . . . (I apologize if I have posted to the wrong sub-forum.)

I've seen pictures on the net where people have put a tarot card in front of, or rubber-banded to, a vigil candle in magical workings. I've seen some where they have candle holders with painted images of the tarot on them. I myself have never tried this, but find it would be interesting to discuss.

Does anyone here use their tarot cards in magical workings?

Personally, it makes me plan to eventually get another deck of tarot cards and use one deck for readings and one for magical workings. It's a pretty neat idea to me.

Many of the cards can be used in candle spells

I use the Robin Wood Tarot, it has some wonderful imagery

Some cards I've used in various spells are:
The Chariot or 6 of Swords for meditation journey work
Judgement, Justice or 2 of Swordsfor redressing wrongs done
The High Priestess for contacting various Goddesses
The Magician for contacting various Gods
Strength for personal growth work
7 of Pentacles for getting jobs
1 of Cups for money

Just about any card can be used, just pick the one who's imagery strikes you as being aligned with what you're trying to do

I work with scenes.  Sometimes a diorama of the situation I want to bring about, sometimes a painting, and sometimes a card layout that says what I want it to say.

Absent
I smile when I\'m angry.  I cheat and I lie
I do what I have to do to get by
But I know what is wrong, and I know what is right
And I die for the truth in my secret life

Now that's intriguing. :)

If it gets the job done, then it's worth using.
