It's a solidly good book. I tend to recommend Rachel Pollack's more recent book, Tarot Wisdom (which is basically 78 Degrees of Wisdom + 20 years more experience, and a bit more historical grounding and practical exercises - basically, more book for your book money) but there are reasons the older one remains a classic.

(As a note: I happened to recognise the author here, but when you ask about a book, it's really helpful if you mention the author as well. That way, someone who knows the author but not a particular book might be able to chime in with thoughts more easily. Also handy when there are books with very similar titles.)

I like it a lot. I found it in a second-hand bookshop and didn't know it was a classic at the time. It's excellent.

It's an excellent resource. I've heard it referred to as 'the tarot bible' before.

I'm a fan of Pollack's - I own her Tarot Wisdom and Forest of Souls as well, and they're among the books I re-read most often. In general I find that she can write on some of the more esoteric aspects of the tarot without getting confusing or too intellectual.
