haha yea. I wish I had watched a tutorial beforehand so I wouldn't have done that mistake! Also the first time I woodburned, the tool slid off my tabel and landed on a plastic bag that it melted through. So my apartment smelled awful for a day :( But it was a great learning experience haha

It looks real good for a first time. My one suggestion would be, if you plan on leaving the bark on, to make sure the wood is sanitized of any insects by baking it in an oven at about 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 hours. That's a low enough temp that the wood won't be scorched, but high enough to kill off the wood-boring beetle eggs that like to hide under bark.

Thank you so much for this. I hadn't even thought of it

Here are some of my favorite pieces. This is my first time woodburning so they aren't the best. Also they aren't sealed yet.

Nice! Here are mine, but I still have to consecrate them. Interestingly, I was just collecting them around the garden and house and stopped for the day and had collected over 2-3 periods during the day the exact number necessary. Pretty crazy, as I hadn't even checked how many I needed.
