I Ching forums and other resources
« on: January 29, 2013, 01:17:34 am »
hey diviners
I have been getting back into studying the I Ching, and I thought there was a group for that, or threads in this forum, but I'm not finding them. Maybe from the old board? At any rate, if anyone else is into I Ching, or has any favorite online resources or books, let me know.

I'm currently working mainly with the Wilhelm translation, the old standby, but also really like Carol Anthony's "Guide to the I Ching" a lot. It's a bit more Taoist and sort of Al-anon in it's approach to the text, but sometimes it's just the thing. I have also been using RL Wing's "I Ching Workbook" for years and years. I'm on my 3rd copy now, I think. There are a few other texts around that are ok, but would love to know what other folks are reading.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or discussion

Rose

Hi! I like using I Ching when I don't have anything else to hand. I don't have a favorite translation at the moment, I tend to fall back on the public domain ones when I need them since they're easily available. I'd love to get back into and make a serious study of it, though.

yeah, there are some good ones. I really like the Akira Rabelais site, too, since it's a sort of travelin' Wilhelm, although the typos are a bit of a slog at times. Still, putting the whole thing up  on the web for free like that is really cool.

I was sure there was an I Ching group on this board, but it must have been in the old forum.

If there is an interest in starting a study group here, I'd be into it.
