Geomancy

Somehow I've become curious about geomancy lately: by which term I mean specifically the system of divination which uses four rows of one or two dots as the symbols.

I came  across a chart of the 16 possible signs in a rather muddled book on symbolism, and what first caught my attention was that JK Rowling had apparently used it as source material (some of the sign names were very familiar ...).

Then there was the structural resemblance to I Ching trigrams, despite having completely different origins and meanings.

And how apparently part of the practice involves doing binary mathematical operations on the symbols. (Yeah, so I'm a sucker for sacred math ...) I also like that it's a Western magical system that isn't deeply wrapped up in astrology and the zodiac.

Wikipedia has a surprisingly thorough page about it, but I haven't heard much about it in Pagan circles. So, to this Pagan circle: does anyone here practice geomancy, or anything similar? Any advice on practices or resources?
