* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Cleansing the Cards for Multiple Readings.
« on: November 13, 2011, 03:50:37 pm »
All day today, I've offered to give Tarot card readings to anyone and everyone who has asked. (I had a lot of takers. Many more than I would have expected!) I really enjoy giving readings and I'd like to think that I'm some kick-ass reader. However, since I was giving multiple offerings for many different people, many of them right after another, I got a little worried about card cleansing.

I decided that in between readings, I'd leave the cards spread out across the table with my cleansing quartz in the center. I left them there for a few minutes until I felt like it was all right if I picked  them up and started on someone new.

I was just wondering if (a) this problem has happened with anyone else and (b) what trick(s) you used to solve it?

I don't really do a lot of readings for others so I don't really worry about previous 'data' messing with the current reading.
However, I do use a quick cleansing method in between, just in case.

All I do is blow at the deck of cards; very quick and sharp, like when you blowing dust off of an object.
Whist I do that I imagine the remaining 'data' from the last reading is pushed off and leaves the cards clean.

Another way of cleansing them is by passing the deck through incense smoke.

I'd never go for a full on cleanse in case it takes away any of your own energy which you put into the cards over time. Just enough to remove the previous reading before the next should do.

Hope that helps :)

That should work fine, I'd think. The rare times I do multiple readings for others, I just hold it between my hands for a bit, then shuffle it well.

I ran into that problem when I would have open days or do tarot parties.  Some people have extremely sticky energy, which usually requires changing decks for a while.  Most people, however, don't leave such a residue on the cards.  All I generally do between clients is break the connection by shuffling the cards thoroughly myself.  I think I might have started out with some kind of image or phrase in mind when I did it, but I've been doing it so long that it's basically one act.  Read the client, break the cards, hand the deck to the next client.

If the cards do get stuck, you'll know because they'll keep reading the same person/situation no matter who you hand them to.  Sometimes they won't go on to a new question even for the same client.  That's when I switch decks and start clean.  I usually have five or six decks in my kit when I do a party, and at least that many arranged on a shelf or a table when I have an open day.  Sometimes a client will see a particular deck and just want to be read with that one instead of my prime.  It doesn't cost anything to indulge those impulses.

I've not used the quartz to cleanse before...  I've a couple moonstones in with my deck in their pouch and up to now have had no problems (not that I've done a massive number of readings or anything, like Absent)...I do like to cleanse my deck with incense though.  For me it's like keeping my altar/shrine well dusted and taken care of-it's a personal thing that I like to do to make sure it's nice and clean and fresh like... (Just me, I know.  You can call me crazy if you like.  I won't mind. ;) )

Can I ask why moonstone?

I went with quartz because I always heard of it as the cleanser to be all cleansers for all things mystical. I never heard of any of the clearing stones like that before, so... I'm just curious.

I didn't realize that I neglected to say why I had them in there (sorry)...  It's not especially for the cleansing aspect I was looking into for my deck.  I was told that moonstone was for insight and intuition. I sometimes tend to not pay as close attention to what the cards tell me and this stone/crystal is to help me with this negligence...   I wanted to have the help to connect with the deck a bit better and learn to have that bit more focus (I'm still not as good as I'd like to be in readings).  When not in use, I have a piece of quartz sitting on top of the deck to do the clearing.
