* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Question for our UK members...
« on: August 31, 2020, 08:17:46 am »
So, in a tossing-the-idea-around (but not too seriously right now) vein: For those of you who hail from that part of the world, what would you say is the best time of year to plan a visit to "England's green and pleasant land" from the standpoint of both weather and things to do? Specific area the south of England, including London, Kent, and possibly Cornwall.

In order to return the favor, allow me to state that anyone planning a visit of leisure to the largest city in the Lone Star State would be well advised to do so during the period between the middle of October and the middle of December, when the summer heat has broken and hurricane season is on its way out. Either then, or during early March when the Houston Rodeo is in session...March is generally cool and pleasant and the Rodeo is a world-class diversion with a lot of local flavor.

Thanks for any helpful responses----Eric.

For things to do I'd say probably April through September would be the most reliable months, as some of the tourist attractions (particularly those with an outdoorsy component) do close their doors/limit their opening hours.  The school summer holidays here are July & August, so there can be (usually) lots of additional events & such then, though they're obviously family friendly and can be crowded with families with kiddies.

From a weather perspective I'd usually say May through September as April can be a bit unreliable, but by May it's usually warmed up a bit.  Though British weather can be notoriously unreliable, generally.  July & August are usually the months with the 'hot' weather, though I feel sure you'd probably take our 'hot' completely in your stride!  And it's always difficult to pinpoint when exactly that warm weather might crop up (if at all!)  By September it's usually cooler, as you might imagine, but we can still have some lovely fine days with blue skies during that month (and even into the first week or two of October in recent years).

This year's been a bit of a damp squib as we didn't get an awful lot of summer weather and August has largely been grey skies if not downright wet weather (in fact quite a bit of flooding in some areas which don't usually expect it).  So I hope the above is some help, but please don't hold me to anything should you get continually rained on during your visit!!
