2019 Donation Drive

It's time for our annual Server Donation Drive! We need to raise at least $650 (same as last year) to keep The Cauldron's server online for another year. Please help! Either hit that Paypal button to the right and make a one-time donation in any amount or set up a monthly Bronze, Silver or Gold Donor subscription. You can find more info in this message!

Donations as of 16 Sept 2019: $660 donated. $10 more our minimum goal! Let's beat last year's total of $99 more than the minimum!

Note: This total is updated manually, usually once a day

* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Life's To-Do List 2012 Season 1
« on: December 18, 2011, 02:24:45 pm »
Here we go again! If you've done this before, you know what to do.

If you're wondering what this is all about, here's a quick run-down of how this thread works:
1.  Post your list of goals to be accomplished during the season (Winter in the Northern Hemisphere, Summer in the Southern). Please either number your list or post a running total of the number of goals made and completed.
2.  Periodically post updates and progress reports on this thread.
3.  I'll try to give progress updates for the group every week or two.
4.  The fun ends on the last day of the season, when we'll start a new thread and whole new lists.

Missed last season, so getting a head start.

1. Driver's license. No, for real. With Mom not feeling well lately, I can't afford to always depend on the bus for getting to where I need to go.

2. Get something published. Already sent in a few entries for contests, but the places I selected also take submissions year-round.

3. For the love of corn, master those chords so I can start learning SONGS on my guitar!

4. Save up for a new guitar, preferably one that doesn't leave an itchy spot on your arm from playing (or maybe that's just dust).

5. Go someplace for my birthday. Doesn't have to be out of the country, just do something other than stay home.

6. Stick with training for 20k races. Do not fall off the wagon, do not pass GO, do not collect 200 spondulicks. Forget about 10k, there don't seem to be any I can get to easily.

7. Take duties as officer in DDO guild seriously. Don't let them think they made a mistake promoting you.
I love a good metallurgical take on the phrase "What the F---?"

Here we go again!

I officially gave up on last season. I'm not even tallying it up, because it will just depress and demotivate me.

In an effort to not overwhelm myself with large projects (as Finn reminded me I am prone to doing) I'm going to try month-to-month goals again with a smaller list, and see if that helps any.

December
01. Post wrt TWS Chapter 1 exercises.
02. Read TWS Chapter 2.
03. Coursework. Get at least 100 pages done (my goal is 365, but we'll see. This time of year is chaotic and stressful.)

January
01. Finish coursework.
02. Job hunt!
03. Make the necklace that's camped out in my head.
04. Read at least 1 book.
05. Post wrt TWS Chapter 2 exercises.

February
01. Read at least 1 book.

March
01. Read at least 1 book.

Goals this month: 3

I wasn't expecting to have updates this soon, but here goes...
  • Finish the walking spell from last summer. - Hopefully this will be done by next weekend, as I'm within a dozen miles of finishing.
  • Decide what plants to put in the garden this spring.
  • Keep a daily food journal. - WIP.  I'd forgotten what a PITA this can be, particularly around the holidays when I tend to forgo regular meals in favor of grazing and snacking throughout the day.  I've resorted to keeping a small notebook and pen on the kitchen counter.
  • Renew my passport.
  • Put aside money for the trip. -Thanks to relatives who send money for the holidays, I've already started this one!
  • Complete one quilt from my 'unfinished projects' box.
  • Spend at least one hour per week writing. -No progress yet, but I'll be picking up this year's NaNo where I left off in November.
  • Hit sales goals for the quarter.
  • Read at least ten books. - 3/10 done and #4 is a WIP. I'm almost embarrassed to admit how much time I've spent reading since getting a portable e-reader.
  • Make a dozen new wands for the shop.
Goals: 10
Completed: 0
Works in Progress: 4

Hmmmm... shall I, shall I not, shall I, shall I not....

OK, I'll play again. ;)

Physical Fitness

1. Keep up the exercise = visiting the gym twice a week.
2. Keep up the mainly vegetarian food/cooking style.
3. Keep up the discipline of no sweet soda/sweets in general.

(All of the above went pretty well and will be taken up again after the holiday time - which means Tuesday.)

Household
4. Try to keep the chaos at bay. At least a bit?

Writer

5. Get the lazy butt up and edit the damned story! For the interim goal let's say: three chapters.
6. Reading at least five books from the pile stacked up in the shelf.

Witchy

7. Read at least five books from the other pile stacked up in the shelf.
8. Start the big Journal with at least three entries.
9. Make some holy water.

That'll do for a usual list of fail and shame. :ashamed: ;)

Goals: 9
(ongoing stuff - 4, final aim stuff - 5)
completed: 0
WIP: 3

I'd like to join in.

1. Finish my Tarot deck. I have one of those color your own decks that I've been working on for a year and a half now. It's time to get it done.

2. Organize all of my stuff. This means cleaning out my closets, going through a mountain of boxes in the basement, and getting ready to have a massive yard sale in the spring.

3. Get back into my work out routine. I'm not really worried about losing weight, I just want to be stronger and in better shape than I am right now.

4. Pay off our credit cards. We only have two, but with my husband out of work for a while they're both maxed out. Now that he's found a full time job, it's time to get those balances back to zero and get our credit scores back up so that we can start thinking about buying a house.

5. Quit smoking... again. :ashamed:

Goals: 5

Goals:
1. Move. Can't get out soon enough.
2. Get back into classes.
3. Get serious about the veg thing. I feel so much better when I don't eat meat, so why do I keep going back?
