Astronomers have discovered the largest known structure in the universe, a clump of active galactic cores that stretches 4 billion light-years from end to end

A bit of perspective: If you think of the observable universe as being the size of the average living room, that makes the Milky Way Galaxy about the size of a nickle...
And this thing is the size of a coffee table.

Which is about 3.5 to 4.0 times larger than current theory predicts should be the maximum possible size for such structures.

This is probably one of the most amazing aspects about it.

Every time science uncovers a little more of the universe, the gods laugh, step back, and reveal that there's yet more . . . . :)
Leave your darkness with me, and I will make you shine.

I'm glad the universe still (and always will) have mysteries that lead to more mysteries. Just more presents for us to open. :)

Yes! The discovery is fascinating on its own, but I am even more excited to see how it changes what we think we know about how the universe works.

All-around awesome!
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs
