That was a fast jump to conclusions on the polices' part. How about someone mad at the owner? I still find it hard to believe people really still think this about pagans.

Has there been evidence at all that pagans have done such a thing even once in say the last 20 years?

Exactly.  With the possible exception of the teeth being removed, I would say that it could have been the work of scavengers.  Of course, without more information on cause of death we can't really say for sure.

The short article seems to say that most of the "pagan ritual" part is press speculation and that little is actually known. This looks like a case of "exciting headline writing" because the police did not rule out the speculation.
