If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Is this true? That's amazing.

OK, first off. That made me laugh. I actually snorted out loud making my colleagues look at me funny.:whis:

Second... Even though I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment I find it very rude.
If this is their view of the world, who are we to disagree? They are not hurting anyone with their question. They are not burning gay's or black people at the stake. They just have their own beliefs and wish to follow them. A simple 'I'm sorry but we do not share your beliefs and suggest you look elsewhere' would have sufficed. Especially when coming from a official institution like the pagan federation it makes me cringe. I would've expected a more professional attitude.

It amazes me how close-minded some of the open-minded people can be. Live and let live, people.

I probably would not have included the "Fuck off" -- but that would have definitely been what I wanted to say.

Except they're extending their beliefs from "I don't want to marry someone of the same gender as me [perfectly reasonable] or someone who's of a different race to me [more questionable but ultimately a personal choice]" to "I don't want to be married by someone who thinks that sort of thing is okay". Which IMO is far worse than a bit of an oul' swear.

Especially when they're sending out unsolicited communications which just go into that as an opener.

Yes. And if people are hurt by their question those people should stop being so darn sensitive about things. Discrimination works both ways. If it were a white straight couple specifically asking to be wed by a black priest who happens to be gay nobody would have cared.

I love being told how I (1) actually feel about things (2) ought to feel about things.

Not when there's a societal power imbalance. May I recommend you read Peggy McIntosh's "White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack"?

Doesn't that work both ways?  If the couple are upset by the rudness, they need to stop being such delicate little flowers?

Odin is, after all, a god of war among many things.

Which does raise the question of why so many folkish types who claim to be dedicated to him are quite so sensitive about people saying meen fings to them.

Apart from that hasn't happened. You can't really claim that it's a case of discrimination working both ways if your example only exists in your head.

At a stretch, your analogy would work if we were talking about the Nation of Islam or a group like that who are actively racist.  And I'm quite happy to suggest the NOI should go fuck themselves as well.
