Actually their is a big sex slave market already operating with mostly young Russian women as the victims. This crap is legal, legitimate, and ethical by Sharia law.

There's a significant sex trade with Asians in those area's as well, especially Fillipinos (sp).  They're not prostitutes in the typical sense but they're not slaves either.  When I was still in I recall a case of a military person selling a roommate into slavery while in the mid-east region.

It doesn't surprise me that she has to go all the way back to the 8th Century to bring up an example of this.

Not at all, considering that some parts of the world are stuck firmly IN the 8th century.

Gods forbid Kuwaiti men should ever have to exercise an ounce of self-control.

Or even masturbate a little.  But, making the bald man cry is probably a crime.  How skewed is your code when self pleasure is more sinful than raping a non-muslim slave girl.

When misogyinistic bullshit comes from a woman's mouth, is it still misogynistic bullshit?
You have my sword

And my... um... slacks.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2000292/Men-allowed-sex-slaves-female-prisoners-job--WOMAN-politician-Kuwait.html

This is from The Daily Mail today. I could not believe what I was reading! But, I would like to hear other people's opinions of this article's contents, no matter what the point of view.

I learned the hard way that the Daily Mail is the UK version of the National Enquirer. They mainly just write (read: make up) a lot of their stories for the sensationalism.

Are any reputable publications carrying this story?

The pace of progress in artificial intelligence (I’m not referring to narrow AI) is incredibly fast. [...] The risk of something seriously dangerous happening is in the five year timeframe. 10 years at most.--Elon Musk

I am in the camp that is concerned about super intelligence," [Bill] Gates wrote. "First the machines will do a lot of jobs for us and not be super intelligent. That should be positive if we manage it well. A few decades after that though the intelligence is strong enough to be a concern. I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don\'t understand why some people are not concerned."

Then it sounds like that woman in Kuwait is going to be rich.  Simple libel suit against the paper for making things up is going to cost the paper tons. Just have to love the English libel laws.

Yep, to the point that a number of books by US publishers were destroyed rather than try and defend them due to the cost despite being well researched truth.

Hey, I never claimed that they were infallible- just strict.

The Defamation of Character laws have been around for centuries- on occasion, I do think that they need updating slightly. Other times, I think that they are just fine as they are.

The US has a law against such use of libal laws or other laws.  SLAPP
Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation is outlawed in the US, or at least many jurisdictions.

Somebody files a lawsuit such that defending the suit is not the worth the cost, such that opponents of say a development are not allowed to be involved in the decision making for fear of losing everything to the lawsuit.

There is a you tube video, assuming it isn't a hoax.

"Her remarks, made in a video posted on YouTube last month and carried by newspapers in the Gulf states in recent days, have sparked outrage in cyber-space from fellow Kuwaitis and others in the wider region."

I googled using something like kuwaiti woman pow sex slaves, and got it 2 other places in the middle eastern press, but I don't know if they are decent or not.

http://americanbedu.com/2011/06/23/lets-make-sx-slaves-out-of-female-pows/

this one shows the youtube video.  If it's a hoax, it isn't the daily mail that will be paying her, it will be whomever posted the thing.
