Drunken Odinists Protest at a Church
« on: August 04, 2011, 09:20:58 am »
Quote
The duo, downing Fosters and vodka, told police they were Odinists – a little-known pagan religion that worships a large number of gods.

A witness said they told officers they were protesting because they were not able to build religious buildings. The father added that he was at not being permitted to wear his religious regalia because it includes a sword.

According to the Odinist Fellowship’s website, Odinists worship their gods through “feasting and merry making” – although a witness said he heard police telling the pair it would have been a more effective protest had they not been drunk.

LMAO. Reading the article, that's actually pretty hilarious. It was hardly an "Odinist protest," but a father and son who happened to be Odinist. That's great they climbed the church. ahaha.

(That said, I'm glad I'm not an Odinist... hmph.)

It is pretty funny, they made complete fools of themselves. You would think they would have realised that protesting while drunk might not be the most effective method.

It sounds to me like something that "sounded good when you are drunk" than any type of real protest. Hilarious but stupid.

I have to say, I love the writer's style..."little known religion that worships a lot of gods...after a lengthy talking down process...and after he had finished his vodka.."

Are you sure this didn't happen in Alabama?  I've seen some videos that rival this...
