If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

You could contact Sekhmet. She's... pretty... intense. I think I once described our constant-contact relationship as constantly walking into a brick wall.

Yeah, I'm actually not looking for that.  I love Ausir for being quiet and gentle.  Some people are put off by the quietness.  I think they interpret him as being aloof, but he's not that way at all with me.  He's just very, very patient, and a good listener.  Maybe that's where I got the thing from:  "Just because they aren't talking doesn't mean they aren't listening."  IMHO, quiet Gods are underrated.

I mean, it's nothing that I don't mind (or need) at times, but it does get pretty deflating to have it happen frequently.

Maybe you can try calling upon her in her healing aspect?  I know she's not my "primary" God but I do work with her.  I have found her very gracious when I've asked her to heal those I care about.  Fortunately for me, she's also good at fixing depression :)

Honestly, I think it's the fire-breathing bitch in her that I connect to more than anything else. :p

I know that I prefer Set because he's direct and in my face. Sometimes, it's the only way that things get through to me.

Not to the degree of yelling, mind you. He's never done that. But he can also be less than subtle.

The only reason Sekhmet starts yelling, usually, is because I do a "pshaw, yeah whatever" kind of a thing to the point where she gets so frustrated with me. Think of me as the most obnoxious kid you can think of times twenty. Yep. That's what Sekhmet has to deal with. :o

I was suggesting that because you said you felt "deflated" by her "fire-breathing bitch" side.

Seems like you're drawn to it this but it may have also contributed to the burnout.

[Insert not-a-real-Kemetic disclaimer here.]

I'm hanging this off Nehet's reply because it echoes what I've seen you say on the old board, SatSekhem- that sometimes Sekhmet pushes you to Hetharu, but you don't really know how to connect, how to work with her. Have you considered that learning to work with Hetharu might help the burnout, and help enrich your relationship with Sekhmet? And that maybe you've said "Yeah, okay, whatever" (or however you phrased in earlier) about working with Hetharu one too many times, so this is the only avenue left to Sekhmet to get you where she thinks you need to be?

I think this is a very valid point. I think if a god wants you to go somewhere, and you don't listen- they're only going to get more obnoxious and pissy as time goes on.

I've tried ignoring Set. It doesn't work. I've learned the best way to deal is to listen, and try to do what he wants the first time he asks.

I personally like Hathor. Don't know why. I see her almost as an attachment to Aset- like they hang out together or something. I can't say I've really sat in shrine with her before, but the feelings I get are nice none the less.

SatAset, this really helps.  Thank you for being the messenger.

I'm glad that was helpful to you.  I needed to hear it too.  I'm going to do this tomorrow.  So much for not hesitating, heh.

In the Late Period, there was a syncretic deity Aset-Hethert.  Do you know if she is a syncretic deity?

Oh, quite often. I just can't connect with Hwt-Hrw on any level. I tend to think of it like this: we went out a couple of times. At first, it was great. We connected and things went from there. However, after the fifth date, it got kind of awkward.

I know they got combined. I don't know how the two correlate for me, though. If it's a cocktail of the two, or what :S I still haven't figured it out.

There are times when I get a goddess that is very much ASET (based off of what others have said), but other times, it's like I see Hathor over her shoulder... like a ghosted image behind her. I really don't get it. And I don't try to lol. If you have any exp with this, or input, I'm willing to listen :)

Have you asked Her?  I find that's the best way to find this out.  She's pretty clear about it when She answers.  She wouldn't like being mistaken for someone else, y'know?

It could be Aset-Hethert (although my gut is saying not quite) and it could be Aset and Hethert coming to you at the same time.

I get the feeling that it's more at the same time, or that sometimes they both are there at the same time. I haven't asked directly. I guess I just didn't feel the need? I don't know. I will mull it over, and see where it gets me. I honestly haven't worked with Aset in a good while.
