(I wish I could find copies of these books online.  It would save me the trouble of scanning them, as that is how I read everything.  Oh, well.)

I think you can buy an ebook of Eternal Egypt.

Try here maybe? http://www.iuniverse.com/Bookstore/BookDetail.aspx?Book=172324

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the public library has any of the suggested books.

Doesn't your library have an inter-library loan service?  Most of the Egyptology books I've gotten from the library were not on location in Boulder. I had to order them from other libraries.

You might be able to access your library account online.  When I need a book from another library, I just submit a request through Prospector. Then I pick it up at the library.  Actually, for a small extra fee, they deliver the book to my apartment.  :)   Which is great because sometimes I'm lazy.

For the really rare stuff, I had to go to the ILL desk directly.  They're usually very nice and helpful.  I've come at them with some odd requests and they don't bat an eye.

I think that Prospector is only American libraries?  Anyway, I know my university has an interlibrary loan system, so I'm fairly sure I should be able to get some of through my school, at least.  I also just sort of assumed the public library's ILL system was just for libraries in the same city, but this might be because I've never asked them for anything that isn't in one of that city's libraries.  So when I didn't see anything in the catalogue, I figured that meant they couldn't get a hold of it.  But I'll have to ask them.  Once I learn where the library is.  And actually get some mail with my current address on so they'll give me a library card.  I did only move here a week ago.

Possibly.  Sorry, should have looked at the flag.

It depends on the library, but most libraries (both in the US and Canada, as I understand it) sort of prioritise:

- The first rank of ILL requests goes to other libraries in the city, or in the larger library system.

- After that, it's usually to the state/province

- And occasionally, requests may get passed along outside that.

The trick is that ILL costs the library to do (both in staff time and in terms of shipping costs). Generally, libraries that do a lot of ILL with each other in a geographic area work out ways to make that more equitable (for example, a van that goes to a bunch of different locations, where the cost is shared by all the libraries might end up being a lot cheaper than mailing things, when you get enough volume.)

Your university library almost certainly has ILL, and they may be better set up to use it for academic type books than a public library is (just because that's what they do all the time, where the public library requests those materials less often.)

Either way, the best thing to do is to ask. Often, libraries don't spell out their ILL options in detail, because the vast percentage of their users don't need them (and because in a few cases, spelling them out in detail has lead to abuses of the system in ways that make life hard for the libraries. What you want isn't that, though, so go ask!)

Oh yes, I know my university has an ILL system.  It's the same system used by all universities in Ontario, and I've used it before.  It even looks like I can get Maat: The Moral Ideal in Ancient Egypt, and Temple of the Cosmos through it, once I've got my student card and things so that I actually have access to the library.  I didn't see Eternal Egypt, however, so I'll probably have to get a hold that one a different way.

It was the public library's ILL system that was confusing me because there was no information on their website except that they have an ILL system in place.  Thank you for explaining it.  I will definitely be asking them, once I find the library, and get myself a library card. :)
