Well, Sorta, Not Really, Maybe

Well, I don't generally request help from others, but, the Little Lady of mine is involved in this too so for her sake, and to alert the community to a likely hiatus...

The end of this past June my direct supervisor decided to retaliate against me for successfully dodging a write-up. The company's utter refusal to upgrade their computers lead to issues with the computers crashing, sometimes repeatedly. Since this is a call center, and they'd just gone over to a new time-keeping set up, if you had too much time not logged in taking calls they'd write you up or fire you, depending on the amount of time in question.

Well, he tried to do the write up even after his bosses specifically told him not to. Two weeks later I got fired and no one could give me a straight answer as to why.

Then he got fired two weeks later. I still have no job. To compound matters, I broke my left foot pretty badly two days after being termed.

I know a bit about herbalism and since opioid pain killers have no effect on me there was no point going to the hospital and incurring a debt I could not afford when I could do everything at home and for only a few dollars. I continued to job hunt throughout the healing process and after two weeks was walking almost normally. Still, and even now, for whatever reason no one will hire me.

This left the Little Lady paying all the bills, which wasn't going to work long term but we thought we'd be ok. I've bounced back from worse fairly quickly.

Unfortunately we're currently living in a hotel and her mom forgot about her allergy to tobacco smoke last Friday and was smoking around her. Come Monday she had no voice and had to leave early on Tuesday. That loss of time has left us with insufficient funds to remain where we are.

To make matters worse she has Lupus, and stress triggers it. While I'm actually looking forward to living in a tent (she'll be staying with her family) it bugs the daylights out of her. (I appreciate that she worries, but so you all know, this will be something like my fifth time being homeless. The last couple occurred in January. I was sleeping in my truck during ice storms, lol!)

Her mom has been kind enough to let me pitch my tent in their back yard (my Gods their yard is big!) and run an electric cord out so I can have a fan and some creature comforts. I'll probably be doing some of the work outdoors that no one else there can manage for various reasons so that I'm not mooching. But still, she's all tore up over me living that way when she's not and nothing I say is making a difference. In my mind it's not even close to permanent and is actually beneficial since my car, our only source of transportation, is in desperate need of repairs and replacement of things like tires and seals. This change frees up much needed cash flow to do that and other things.

But, she doesn't see it that way and it hurts her a lot and, honestly, doesn't leave me with the warm n fuzzies either because she's unhappy.

Any good, positive, helpful thoughts, prayers, etc. that you good folks could send her way to help ease her heart and mind would be much appreciated!

A bit of good news, apparently her dad is beginning to soften in his old age. Instead of being way out in the sunny portion I can pitch up the tent in the trees so I have some shade! And she and her mom had a long talk today about it... She's a bit calmer and all since her mom said essentially the same stuff I did. Thank you to everyone! Now I just need to get a job again, lol.

Yeah, he picked a great way to retaliate. Not only is company policy a guaranteed no rehire but since according to the records it was a termination for cause I'm automatically ineligible for unemployment.

S'ok though, this might wind up being a great opportunity for me to kick my business into gear. For example, while the Little LAdy and I were at the coffee shop today; making a delivery, the owner ordered a set of coaster from her in exchange for free drinks all day, lol, another customer noticed my jewelry while I was telling the Little Lady about an idea I had for a new product. She suggested trying to get in touch with a certain website she was going to look up for me because the folks who produce "Vikings" order a lot of the culture specific props and jewelry from there.

That would likely put me on the map and on the way to a much happier life. So, one way or another I'm going to turn this to my favor.

Sorry for the double post, folks, but some potential excellent news just happened.

Found a job advertised as a brand ambassador for CBD oil. I've been using it for a while and have had amazing results. So this would probably be a fantastic opportunity for me to do something good and all and it pays amazingly well. Here's hoping I can nail this and do something positive!

Thank you, Sunflower! I had the interview about an hour ago, nothing firm yet but will keep you posted. And an old coworker of mine stopped into the place whose Wi-Fi I'm using and wants me to come work with him at his current employer. So, we'll see what happens.
