I was just fired today.  I am very much in a state of numb shock for the moment, even though I suspected the situation was untenable due to office politics.  I  had hoped to be given a chance to show that I was worth the effort but it was not to be.

I'm so sorry - it's a blow when that happens (I've had one "We're cutting your job" and one "We are not renewing your contract" in my professional life.)

That really sucks. I’ve been through something similar once before. It’s very hard to explain, and you sound petty even trying, but yeah- workplace politics do exist. The worst day of my life had a lot of red flags, including a recent suspension based on totally false pretext.

It took me about a year to find an equally good job. It was rough. I wish you luck.

So sorry to hear it - I can well imagine the state of numb shock, and sympathise with the office politics having made things untenable.  My best wishes for you whilst you move on from this setback, at your own pace.
