Hello all,

I feel kind of selfish asking for this, since there are a lot of folk around here with MUCH bigger battles than what I'm going through.  But I'm feeling all sorts of snowed under, and if anyone has a little positive energy to send this way, I'd really, really appreciate it.

Firstly, my cat Brando (who's living with my parents, due to my complicated housing arrangements) is very old and has been poorly for quite a while now.  He's been at death's door a few times already, but has always rallied at the last minute.  But this time, I think it really is it.  He's currently snoozing through a cloud of painkillers, and if he doesn't go in his own time before the pain returns the vet will help him on his way.

His passing will be really, really hard on Mum - she's really bonded with that cat, and absolutely considers him a member of the family.  I feel really guilty that I foistered a special-needs cat onto her to look after, and now she's fallen in love with him she's potentially going to have to hold him as he's put to sleep, while  I'm swanning off a thousand miles away.

I have another three weeks down here before I finish work and move home.  (And the thought of missing a chance to say goodbye to Brando by such a short time, after being apart for a year, makes me sad.)

There's been a litany of things going wrong with the move - none of them major, but together they're adding up to a major obstacle.  (The person who was to take over my lease has bailed, leaving me with a leasebreaking fee that'll eat most of my bond.  The should-have-been-simple process of transferring my internet contract to my new place has been full of fail.  Work are being dicks about doing an exit interview.  Etc etc etc etc.)

Plus, I'm just feeling crap at my job, crap at my spirituality, crap at divination, crap at life and everything I try to do.  I see what I'd like to do, and what I can actually do, and the gap between the two's so vast I just don't know where to even start.

Bleh.  I'm so very sorry this has turned into a big rant.

I hope that things have worked themselves out- but I will be definitely offering positive energy to your mother and yourself. You deserve it. As someone who has recently lost a cat, my companion, I can understand.

EDIT: Just read the news. I am terribly sorry. May the Gods smile upon you and your family. Try to see the good in that you offered your companion a life of love and comfort. I hope that you are OK.
