My fiancee is a Satanist, and I respect his beliefs and everything, but he's constantly plagued by nightmares that leave him in tears and evil spirits that follow him everywhere. I was hoping someone would help me conjure some kind of prayer or protection spell.

Do you have any idea why he is having these nightmares or why spirits follow him? Knowing some background can often help decide what courses of action are likely to be most effective.

That said, if he would do something like the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram. I suspect their might even be a specifically satanist version of it somewhere on the web -- I know there are Wiccan versions and I saw a Asatruar version once.

I once suffered from nightmares, months on end. Mine were stress and life-event related, once the cause was determined, the frequency reduced.

Yes.  I have some really fucked up dreams when I'm stressed.  So it might be worth looking at what things are going on in his life that could be stressing him out enough to cause bad dreams, and see about reducing those stresses, which should, hopefully, reduce the nightmares (and as DancesWithHorses said, even just knowing the cause may help).

I've also heard about casting a protective circle, or putting up a shield around the bed just before sleep, though I've never tried anything like that myself.

It works, if you know what you're doing. I regularly had nightmares at one of my old apartments and casting a circle around the place before bedtime helped. Maybe it just helped me sleep more soundly, I don't know.

In my experience, nightmares have a cause, and it might not be due to curses and spirits. Best to eliminate mundane causes like stress, drugs, bad food, etc before looking to a metaphysical cause.

I'm sort of curious but are you equating his nightmares to his being a Satanist?  If not it seem's premature to even speak upon his beliefs unless you are equating one with the other.  That you call them evil spirits seems to be more reflective of the perspective of it being Satanic in the Christian sense than a Daemon type scenario in my opinion.

That and just what type of nightmares are we referring to here, Night Terror's where he feels as if something is sitting on him for instance.  Incubus / sucubbus type night terrors where he is sexually abused?  To know what type he is experiencing might be helpful in trying to identify what would be best to counter it with.

Wait, weren't you posting about wanting to marry Loki and were upset that other people were into worshiping him as well?  Now you're worried about evil spirits for a finance and need a spell?  Something sounds off here..

If I'm wrong, oops and I apologize.  But if this person has nightmare constantly maybe he's got some inner stuff he needs to work on.  That, or he needs to learn his own protection work and take responsibility for whatever actions he's encountering.  In short: sometimes a person has to do their own work and it can be a disservice to try to do it for them.  I'm not picking on his choice of faith system mind you.  Any path is going to require the person to do their own work.  I don't care if it's Christian, Satanist, Pagan, or anything else - but if a person is serious about it, they are going to have to do some personal work on themselves.
