The guy who robbed the roommate got his phone. Zeke had his address and his work number in it. The guy called today threatening to kill "you, your kid, and that fat bitch that lives with  you." Zeke is with the cops now. I'm packing and running. Pray.

Ok, so I have the full story from Zeke about how this REALLY went down, and now it makes much more sense. This wasn't a random robbery. It was a drug deal that went wrong. Zeke had promised me that he would have no further dealings with weed (including smoking it--I have zero tolerance for crime in my home) after he got rid of his evil ex, but he apparently has been selling it. He took his child with him on a drug deal, which boggles my mind and turns my stomach. But that explains why the cops aren't wanting to do anything about it. My friend who was a deputy sheriff used to call incidents like this NHIs, meaning No Humans Involved. So I'm done. I don't live with petty criminals, particularly ones who will put me in danger, and I'm calling CPS about him involving Greg. I have HAD IT.

Good on you for getting out and calling CPS. At least the child has an advocate in you.  And while there is no silver lining, at least the parties involved are known. This is the kind of stress that hurts. You are in my thoughts.

I hope they do let you take Greg in, but I fear they won't except as an emergency short-term thing.  If there are reliable grandparents or other relatives, you should give them a heads-up.  If not, it's likely the authorities will prefer putting him in foster care to handing him over to an unrelated adult who hasn't been vetted for fosterage by their system - I get a bit :mad: there, since for all the insistence on vetting, the foster care system is seldom a safe and healthy place for kids.  But Greg's chances in that environment are better than they are with a @#$%&* so-called father who @#$%&* takes him along on @#$%&* drug deals.  Zeke is a fool and an asshat whose qualifications for parenthood appear to begin and end with "has viable sperm".
