Luka is safely back in the house now.  He seems freaked out but unhurt.

Thank you all SO much!!!  I know your prayers and energies (and chats with him) made a huge difference. I can't think about what might have happened to him without the love and support of so many great people.

Thank you!

Yay! I was just about to offer up some energy, but clearly I don't need to anymore. Great news, Aster!

That's great! I hope he isn't too traumatised.

I know this might seem silly, but I'm requesting prayers/energy for my cat, Luka.

Prayers that Luka find his way safely home.

Added: Err, I see him made it home.

Yay, I'm so glad for you and Luka! Let us know how he's doing over the next few days. Poor baby must be scared out of his mind. <3

Yay! Glad I read the whole thread through. I wish I had that kind of cat sense to talk to the strays we feed. My house cats, I know their minds... two tracks, nip and food!

Hi, all.

I just wanted to post back in here to say that Luka is back to normal now.  He was a bit skittish and clingy for the first couple of days he was back inside, but he seems to have recovered fully now.  He's back to his very sweet and loving self.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support you all gave.  I firmly believe that the prayers and energy you and the others I enlisted (I posted prayer requests in the 2 cills I belong to outside of TC) really were instrumental in keeping Luka safe and close by.  You made the difference between him panicking and running father away (and worse), and him having the presence of mind to hide close by and then come out for me.

(Of course, credit where credit is due:  I asked Brighid for Her help, too.  And She came through, as well.  :)  )

This community is truly amazing.  I know that saving my cat doesn't compare to saving someone's house from foreclosure, which this community also did recently, but it means a great deal to me.

Luka, the rest of our human and feline family, and I thank you.

That is not silly at all! Having lost two cats to circumstances similar to what you describe;I sympathize with the pain and uncertaintity that a beloved animal companion may be lost. One cat never returned and the other fell asleep in the bed of a neighbor's truck;got driven to a nearby city appx. 40 miles away and after much prayer she returned dehydrated and with bloodied paw-pads.

I am so glad that Luka has returned and chilled out;I didn't see this threaed until after Luka had already returned, but being a lover of cats and having lost too many I felt a need to post congradulations to you and Luka, as well as thank those who reached out to help bring him home. Also the pic that you posted IS very cute;Luka is a very handsome cat and you're lucky to have an animal companion like hm,even moreso that he returned.

Thank you so much!

Actually, Luka got out again about 2 weeks ago under almost the same circumstances, along with another of our cats, Lily.  I pm'd Tana and asked her to contact them like she did the first time Luka got out.  It seemed to work -- we got Lily in quickly (she was only interested in playing outside ;) ), and Luka went back to the garage at Tana's request.  He let me know he was safe and then graciously let me "rescue" him the next day.

We think he's gotten out because my father, who is in his 80s, has been having trouble with his memory and has been forgetting to close the door sometimes.  We're working on a solution.

Thank you for your kind words about Luka.  He is a very sweet very.  :)
