Hey, friends.

My girlfriend and I have been going through a really rough patch recently. The night before last we were up til three, and last night up til four, having was essentially amounted to... massive communication failure. (Part of us was both of us being stubborn and hurt, but part of it was that we were literally not understanding each other and it wasn't until after a few hours of angry, frustrated talking that something clicked and we finally got it.) We're okay-er now, and I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know that the relationship isn't in danger. I know I am.

I'm exhausted and I know she is too. I've pretty much spent the past two nights crying and having no idea what I was doing wrong or what I should be doing right. My silverware drawer is completely empty and I just want a hug.

Sending good stuff and hugs your way.  Relationships are hard.  My husband and I have been together for 16 years now, and we still have those periods where communication is just not happening.  It usually ends in a blow-out, but at least the air is cleared.  As long as you're both still talking and both still trying, there is always hope.
