Missing Milo-Cat
« on: September 23, 2013, 03:58:35 pm »
Hey peeps. My Milo has gone missing, just after we moved house. He's been gone since Thursday, and since he doesn't know the area, I'm getting worried.

We kept the cats in for over two weeks after we moved, but we had to let them out after that, as they were getting depressed, anxious and stroppy (and occasionally peeing on the carpet in protest). He came back once, but then he must have gone further afield, because he hasn't come back. At this point I'm getting very, very worried.

SJ has been around the neighbourhood calling him this evening, but nothing. They talked to a few people who said they hadn't seen a cat matching Milo's description. We'll start knocking on doors and putting up posters tomorrow. I was leaving food out for him, but last night I discovered a local fox was eating it. (I've been getting up at 4am in the hope that he'll be able to hear me calling then...) So I have to stop doing that now. I'm desperately worried. He's my baby. (I also feel horribly guilty, but there's not much I can do about that.)

He's microchipped and has a collar with our phone number on, at least. So a good outcome would be for someone to find him and take him to a vet or call us.

Picture of the Milo-kitty is here, in case that helps anyone with the energy-sending stuff. Any prayers, energy etc is very much appreciated. He's adventurous, but he thinks he's a big scary cat when he's really a wuss, and I'm worried about him out there alone.

Absolutely.  I'll light a candle to Brighid tonight.

I know exactly how you feel.  My Mo got out recently and was missing for about a week. He's home again now -- skinny but otherwise fine.

I hope Milo shows up soon!

Prayers for Milo. Hopefully he's just being adventurous and will head back home real soon.

I'll light a candle.  Hope he finds his way home very soon.

If it helps, when we moved our more adventurous cat to a new home she was out for 6 days in a row exploring before she came home. Sometimes they just like to scout their territory for awhile. :)

I hope he gets hungry and comes home soon! Although at this point, I'd hedge a guess and say he's hunting.

Thanks - that really does help.

Yeah, we discourage him from hunting, but he does know how. We can tell from the 'presents'!

Got him!!

Earlier today, a neighbour told us he had seen Milo last night, outside our apartment. He told us what time it was (later than I'm usually up - hence my late night tonight), so I went and sat outside for about an hour at that time. I was just giving up and going to bed when I heard cats making a racket at each other outside. I went outside and chased off a strange black cat, and lo, the other feline was the Milo-Kitty. He seems fine, although he was absolutely starving, as you'd expect. I've just fed him his second bowl of food. I think he deserves it, if he's been living on mice or whatever since Thursday!

I'm not sure why he was only hanging around at night, since he obviously knows where we live. He may be nervous of all the activity around the block of flats during the day. I'll have to think about ways to help him with that. Meanwhile, I'll be keeping him in tomorrow!

Thanks so much for everyone's good thoughts, prayers etc. :)

Hooray for returning kitty!

Hopefully he won't do that again.
