Job, School, and Home
« on: July 20, 2011, 11:41:12 am »
I've been searching for a new job since I was laid off back in the beginning of May...I desperately need this job so that I can afford to go back to school and get a place with my boyfriend.

I had a job as a kennel cleaner for a few months at the beginning of the year, but the management and owners were horrible people (seriously, didn't care about the employees at all and were constantly yelling at us and putting us down).  They laid me off just as I thought I would finally be able to afford going back to school and find an apartment.

I had to quit school at the beginning of my second semester at University because my grandmother has severe Alzheimer's and could not be home alone.  My little sister had school, and both of my parents work, so I was the only one that could take care of her 24/7.  We found an assisted living center for Alzheimer's patients that is only a few minutes away from home, so I no longer have that responsibility on my shoulders.

I'll be 19 next month.  For years my parents have been saying "When are you going to learn to be an adult?", and "When are you going to grow up and do things on your own?  We won't be here to hold your hand forever, you know!"  What they don't seem to realize is that every time I actually do try to go out and do things on my own and be an adult, they have no trust in me whatsoever, try to hold my hand through the whole thing, or tell me that I'm being childish and I need to grow up, then they punish me saying "We're treating you like an adult!"  I'm almost 19, and I have almost no idea how to do ANYTHING on my own, because they don't LET me do anything on my own, and then they berate me for ever doing anything on my own!  It seems to be a sort of vicious circle...So I desperately need to find a job, which at this time seems to be impossible, so that I can finally afford to move out with my boyfriend and a roommate or two and actually learn to do things myself without my parents always hanging over my head.

This has turned into a bit of a rant, and I'm sorry...But it's all so frustrating and I don't know where else to turn.  Positive energy, prayers, whatever you're willing to give to help, will be extremely appreciated.  I need to get out of this environment.  It's only making my life more difficult.
<3 Rest in peace, Christiana. I love you so much, and I miss you like crazy already. At least you\'re not hurting anymore...May you ascend. <3

Keeping a candle lit for you hon, for a smooth transition into your own.
You can also find my ramblings at my blog although I\'m not the best at regular updates.  I\'m working on fixing that. Or look for me on FB here or Google+ here. :)

Right before you go to bed, take 10 minutes and look deep inside of yourself. Don't try to find answers, just breath and pay attention to your breath and how your heart beats, listen carefully how your blood runs through your veins, pay close attention to yourself.
The following morning, as soon as you wake up, even before you leave your bed, think to yourself, do speak it loud, just think about ten nice qualities you have, and how lucky the world is that you're alive, each and every day, do this and find different qualities.
It not only boosts your self confidence but also gives you the courage to face whatever life brings you. As every one is special for a very specific reason, you can't be less than this, and you aren't. Believe in yourself, calm down, count from 5 to 0 and organize yourself, so you can get what you want.

A wise man once told me this: ' it's the world's duty to try to break you down to pieces, and it's your mission not to let it happen'.

Cheers!

Thinking positive thoughts for you to become employed in a job where you are appreciated, and soon.

As someone in EXACTLY the same boat, with the bonus that I have a nigh-useless driver's license at twenty-one (my mother refuses to let me drive often and is a constant backseat driver when she does, because "You're twenty-something and you're still not used to driving on your own!" at which I keep thinking, "And whose fault is that?!"), I send extra-independence energy towards you.

With a side of "Move out and do JUST FUCKING FINE without your parents" energy. There's nothing that pisses off smothering parents worse than their kids doing all right without them.
On hiatus, but might pop in now and then. Just making it official.

My blog. 40% normal, 60% spiritual, 500% details.
