Energy request

So I've been meeting with a local shamanistic group and they've been helping with a lot of my spiritual problems, and I also started talks to get initiated into their group since the medicine woman said that an experience I had in their drum-circle means I was "named" as a tribe-member by one of my ancestors.

And even though I have no money for therapy right now, I'm looking around and it's kind of relieving to know that money is the only obstacle.

Tealdeer: My efforts to get my shit back together are finally paying off.

This morning I had a really, really big spiritual breakthrough. Literally seconds afterward, Mom and I found out that my brother died in a motorcycle accident.

It was his birthday last week. I forgot to tell him happy birthday because I had work that day and got totally swamped.

I don't know why that bothers me so much.

And I didn't get any crow-omens, or sudden "something is wrong" feelings, or warning thwacks from the gods or my ancestors. It just happened and everyone got as blindsided as I did, and Ogma just keeps telling me "There is no reason--you're just trying to find someone to be mad at before you lie on the couch for a few hours."

And my director had to send me home in spite of my protests because I started going into shock right while I was telling him. He said I could come back tomorrow, but I want to be in rehearsal NOW because I don't want to think about things.

And I keep remembering that the medicine-woman told me, "Spirit doesn't give you anything more than you can handle." And that was two days ago and I remember that I was relieved, but now I'm just thinking WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING THIS, UNIVERSE?

You have my thoughts and wishes that you get through this as smoothly as possible. It seems that so many people I know are going through such turbulent times lately, but at least it means there are people about who can sympathize and help each other through it.

Sometimes, maybe even most times, we don't get any warnings. It doesn't seem fair, I know, but even the gods and the ancestors don't know everything. Even if they did see it coming, you probably couldn't do anything to stop it. There's no point in getting you all worked up about something you can't change.

I wish I could have found out at least an hour or two after my awesome spiritual breakthrough as opposed to right on top of it. I would have at least gotten some breathing room.

You know, I was driving home yesterday and a guy on a motorcycle passed me by, and I went "FUCK, DID HE PULL SOME SORT OF JOKE OR DID SOME OTHER MOTORCYCLIST MUG HIM AND GET HIS WALLET AND HE'S HEADING TO OUR HOUSE TO STRAIGHTEN THINGS OUT?"

And then I remembered that the first option involves my brother being a douchebag, and the second is really, really unlikely.
