I'm putting out feelers.  There's someone who is behaving in a threatening and abusive way with a family member of mine that so far has evaded leaving enough of a trail for legal repercussions, who has her sort of trapped right now and has continued this behavior for years without being stopped.  

He's in a position of power in community and professionally, one that puts him in a position to be quietly hurting other people, too--I have no doubt he's abused his position to attack others, even while he's zeroing in on my family member in particular.  In the meantime, we're working on getting her out of the situation, but it's complicated and sticky.

I have two goals here: I want her protected and upheld, and I want him hurt, frankly.  I want him out of his position and for there to be consequences for his actions, so he can't hurt more people, and (personally) I want him to suffer.  (Maybe that's two and a half goals, with the suffering.  But he has continuously hurt someone I love, in cruel, manipulative, terrible ways, and I would like his name to wear out before he's done with it, and his blood to betray him, and his bones to rot.)

I know we all have a variety of ethics around this kind of work in this community.  In the tradition I was raised in, this is the sort of time you curse the dickens out of someone, and right now, by myself, I don't have the oomph.  I tried to hire on a colleague curandera but she ended up having a time conflict, so I'm looking for new backup.

Would anyone be interested in helping me toward any or all of these goals with your own resources?  I can give more detail for people who are on board.

While I do not practice that kind of magic myself, I do heartily agree. Magic is a tool, and sometimes it's a tool for exacting perceived justice against those who have wronged or harmed us, or those we care about. I don't do it for entirely personal reasons; I see it as a legit use of magic, regardless of that. Best of luck.

It's not like it's a new thing, either. The bulk of evidence for spellwork type magic being a thing among the Hellenistic pagans of antiquity are in the form of curse tablets. Someone would write down a curse who they're cursing on a sheet of lead, roll it up and seal it with nails, and deposit it at the temple of whatever deity they're beseeching, or bury it in the ground.
