Death in my Family
« on: August 13, 2011, 12:34:30 am »
My friend/housemate/closest-I'll-ever-get-to-having-the-big-sister-I-always-wanted, Rena, passed away at 1AM this morning.  It was very sudden, though she had a history of heart problems.  (Members of the Cauldron Cill might remember an ongoing prayer request on her behalf that I had asked the cill for a few years ago.)  She went to work yesterday, said she'd been feeling a little short of breath all day, but seemed fine when she got home.  About 15 minutes later she came into the living room saying she felt really bad, so we called 911.  The hospital said she'd had a heart attack, but they put in some stents and said she looked like she'd be OK.  About 11 PM when we were on our way to finally see her at the ICU, they called the code.  They worked on her for hours, but it didn't help.

Rena was a pagan of the NeoWiccan variety, and a follower of the Morrigan.  And while she had a take no BS attitude that seems common to those drawn to that goddess, she was also one of the kindest people I've ever known.

I think she would appreciated any prayers to help her on her way.  I know I and my partner (her ex-husband) could certainly use any extra healing/strength people would be willing to send our way.  He's grieving intensely, and I'm trying to be supportive for him - my own grief hasn't really hit me yet.  I'm still numb, in shock I guess.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  *hugs tight and purrs soothingly*  I have sent my prayers toward the comfort of you and your family, and towards Rena's safe passage into the afterlife.  I certainly hope things begin looking up soon.
<3 Rest in peace, Christiana. I love you so much, and I miss you like crazy already. At least you\'re not hurting anymore...May you ascend. <3
