Juni is still plague-ridden

Back on Black Friday I started having a minor, annoying cough, which by January had developed into a deep hacking cough in my chest. I went to the doctor, got an xray, got meds, and by the middle of February it was mostly gone- I was still having trouble catching my breath, and had a mild, intermittent cough. Fast forward to the past few days, where I've had some sharp pains in my left lung, intense pressure in my chest whenever I lean over, and the inability to catch my breath. The cough came back last night- it's not terrible, but I feel like shit and I am tired of being plague-ridden.

I am aiming to get in to the doctor soon, but it's unlikely they'll have an opening before con, which means I'm going to be flying like this. I am low on energy, focus, and general enthusiasm about life.

Any work to help me breathe, generally reduce pain until I can get to the doctor, and boost my energy would be deeply appreciated. I am wary of vague Reiki healing, especially since the doctor didn't see anything on the xrays last time- I would like him to be able to deal with whatever is there, I'd just also like to function until then. Thanks, all!

All I can recommend is a good cough suppressant. A warm humidifier with some eucalyptus oil in it might help, too. I'll pray that it hasn't developed into pneumonia...

All I can recommend is a good cough suppressant.

 When I had pneumonia, it was actually recommended not to use a cough suppressant because the cough displaces mucous in the lungs and lets you cough it out. However, it might be nice to use a suppressant at the con and on the plane, for comfort and for not spreading it.

The only other thing I could think to suggest, which you might already be doing, is trying to boost your immune system with vitamins (B complex might even be able to help boost your energy levels).

Being sick like that SUCKS. I once had something the doctors thought was mono, but the tests came back negative, so the doctor admitted they had no clue what was wrong with me and said I somehow had bronchitis, laryngitis, a severe sinus infection, ear infection, and a cold all at once. It took me almost half a year to get over. So my heart really goes out to you.

I know that when I had a cough for a few months, my old doctor did nothing to help, no suggestions or anything. I went to a new doctor and immediately figured it out. It turned out I have really bad allergies. Maybe see if it's possible you have some form of allergies? Just suggesting off my own experience.
