Given that line was written when slavery was still legal in many parts of the US, that is to be expected.

Any recommendations for a good one online?  I found the army one easily enough, but since I'm not in the army, they won't let me actually read it.

MLK once wrote that justice too long delayed is justice denied. I know we're working against the tide. I know things are rough. But knowing that I will never be able to marry my girlfriend in the majority of states in my nation, because some bigoted asshats can't accept the fact this is not a frickin' theocracy - yeah, I scream. I scream and I rage at the fact I am a second-class citizen (for being a lesbian, for being genderqueer, for having a female body) in my nation. Not just in my nation, but my bigoted, white, conservative, Christian town, which can barely stand the presence of interracial couples in 2012. I will never be able to walk hand-in-hand with my biracial girlfriend who, despite being half white, has eyes the wrong shape for this part of Virginia.

No one's quitting. But anger doesn't mean you have to quit. And what makes me mad is the kind of democracy that means mob rule wins. I hate the fact we can vote bigotry into law.

But thats not how the American dream is suppose to be. Freedom is and if you want to be a gay couple then I think you should be able to do as you plz. I have yet to meet anyone gay who was out to get me to be gay in fact I find them to be very nice people. So why not let them do their thing and be happy cuz in the end thats what we all want.

I'm inside a DoD network for next few months, so any US Gov links tend to work.

I haven't had a chance to read it, but at least the first part is open to the public.  It's Canadian, so any of the legal basis references might sound odd.

As to the original point, it would take a lot of abuse by the INS, etc to reach the level many of trafficked persons endure daily.
