I knew the issue was brewing in New Mexico, but I had no idea this was coming today, making NM state #17 (plus DC):

As a resident of New Mexico, this news pretty much made my year. I feel proud of the unanimous part of the ruling in particular, too.

When I asked, "Who's next?" I never dreamed we'd have an answer in 24 hours...let alone that the answer would be this state. My head is spinning like Linda Blair's:

And more importantly, you know heads have got to be spinning all over the Mormon Church! Though their official response was rather restrained.

The challenges are already being filed, and you know this won't stand without a fight. I don't know if this will withstand higher Federal review. But since no stay was immediately placed on the judge's decision, and since there's no waiting to get married in Utah once one has the license, some same-sex couples have jumped on the ruling and already gotten hitched...in Utah. WOW!

I haven't had any caffeine in me yet this evening so I'm not sure if this is a hallucination or...

In all seriousness, I have no clue what to feel about this.  Part of me is still going WTF over this.  The other part remembers not only Prop 8 but all the other reasons I dislike the LDS Church and cant help but reveling in the schadenfreude of the situation.
