"I Voted For the American"
« on: August 29, 2012, 11:52:36 am »
Driving to work today, I encountered a truck with two bumperstickers on it.  The first was the traditional snake/"Don't Tread On Me."

The second just about broke my brain in half.  There was the cross-out circle (you know, like the Ghostbusters logo) with the Obama sun/flag symbol, and the words, "Don't blame me, I voted for the American."

...I... can't wrap my head around this.

At all.

Has anyone else heard of this sentiment? *braincreak*

I'm surprised you haven't.  The birther movement is pretty loud.  Heck, Donald Trump supports it.

I put these folks right up there with those who think Elvis and Tupac are still alive.

Unfortunately I see this quite a bit here in VA Beach. There is an awful lot of hate being spewed.

Nah, the "Elvis is alive" group is waaaaay more credible.

Nah. Didn't you hear? He goes by Bubba now and lives in the woods out back of Sookie's place.

I don't know if it's hate, but the birther arguments are pretty loopy.
Equally classy are the "Don't blame me, I voted for the old guy and the MILF" stickers.  They're not as prevalent though.

Here's Obama's rebuttal of the 'long form' argument from a White House Correspondents' Dinner from last year.  It's great watching him try and keep a straight face.

Gotta admit I'm not an Obama supporter, but he does have style.
Yes that's Trump in the crowd.  I don't think he's very happy.

I have Birthers in my family.  My mother, for one.  She's an intelligent person and we are very close and have a great relationship, but at this point I've learned:  do NOT talk to her about the President.   I just don't get it.
