* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

In fairness, I did not in any way invent that pun. Germandragon just gave me a beautiful straight line.

You're welcome. ;) -And for the record, even knowing you hadn't invented it, I'd still have given you rep.

First I don't get to see the colors, then TC members stop describing them, now you say the Fab Four are not truth stayers.  What God permit this?

God doesn't exist. Pink does.

Magenta? The one dancing in Riff Raft's movie? Don't tell me she's nor real either.

This got me wondering, how would neo-pagans frame the evidence for their gods' existences? If someone asked you what evidence convinced you of your god's existence, what would you say? Hopefully it will make more sense.

Not a pagan anymore, but I'll give it a shot:

What convinced me was getting the shit beat out of me by St John Paul II.
What I would do to convince others is force them to read "Summa Theologica".

It was a very interesting UPG. And that depends on how the person reading it views Aquinas' style. I meant it in a "make them read it because the Summa is the finest work of Catholic apologetics" kind of way, but it could also be taken in a "oh dear god fine baptise me, just don't make me read a multiple-volume work of Catholic theology" kind of way =p

Who said you did? I'm just buying into the OP's premise.

I was in the full throes of my Catholic mysticism phase when I read it, but mostly what I remember of it are the fiddly details about angelology, because that's what I ended up using in a paper that semester.

LOL. The Summa has one problem when it comes to convincing non-believers, Aquinas wrote it for theology students, meaning it was written for those who obviously already believed. This doesn't negate Aquinas' arguments for the existence of God, but as they were no written with convincing non-believers as their primary aim, they are going to be less helpful in that area than if they had been written for that end.

Sunflower, who is skeptical about Skeptics

Perhaps this is because you don't know what skepticism does for humanity. Americans take it for granted that we have schools free of religious ideology and fair laws, so skepticism doesn't have much of an impact on our cultures, but in some third-world countries, skepticism and human rights activism is synonymous:

http://www.csicop.org/specialarticles/show/anti-witchcraft_campaign_at_cfi_kenya, by Kenyan skeptic George Ongere.

Unfortunately, the two articles about Indian skeptic Dr. Narendra Dabholkar from vol.38, no.1 of Skeptical Inquirer haven't been uploaded to the website, but last year, on August 30th, he was assassinated for advocating for the protection of women and children from lynch mobs after an accusation of witchcraft.
