No, cat! How to keep cat away from altar.
« on: January 27, 2016, 10:57:35 am »
Hey there, cauldronites! I have recently set up an altar for Imbolc on my kitchen counter. It's not very elaborate, just some candles, bay leaves, salt, a flower, and incense. My cat has never bothered any of my altar things, even when they looked like toys.

For some reason, he has decided that this altar is different, maybe because it is where food usually is. He has tried chewing on the flowers and knocking the salt over. Any suggestions on keeping him away from it, other than moving to a different area of the house?

Spray it/around it with some kind of citrus oil (if using essential oils dilute  them with water) or even lemon juice or lay citrus peel around it. Cats hate citrus

Good idea. I have some grapefruits in the fridge, so I will try that.:)
