Being music I have no choice but to see them. I had a male earth bound throw a dish cloth and hit the kitchen counter because I was calling someone to get rid of him! I am serious! I feel Like this one is feeding off your energy. As was the case for me. You ave 2 around you...

I'm going to assume you were talking to me, then.

I don't see how the spirit in my sister's house is feeding off of my energy. I don't live there and, as I said further up thread, these things aren't happening when I am there.

Spirits? Maybe. Maybe even more than that. I don't see how you could know that, though. In any case, nothing like this happens in my home. Nothing like this ever has. Hence the question, is it possible for a spirit to move a stack of books?

I guess the general consensus is yes?

Again, I'll assume you're insulting speaking to me with this post.

A magnet for negative energies, huh? That's a pretty hostile response, considering you've never met me and you really don't know anything at all about me. Wow, talk about lashing out...

I don't know where this hostility is coming from. Your replies didn't make any sense to me at all. You said things that weren't applicable to the situation. If you'd actually read what I've posted here, you'd know that.

But hey, whatever.

Okay, so here's a thing.
About two weeks ago, a strange thing happened at my sister's place. In my niece's room, some books were moved. They were taken from the shelf they were on and moved to a chair. It was like someone picked up the whole row of books and upended them, then stacked them on a chair.

Sister says she's asked every member of the family if they did it, and everyone says no. The boys don't admit to it, mom says she didn't do it, so does dad (they both babysit).

Sister asked me if I thought it could be our Gram. I said no, because it's completely out of character for her to mess things up. Putting things away? Yeah, totally her deal. Out of order, not so much, she hated when things were messy.

Anyway, one of my questions is, could a spirit have that much strength? I mean, it seams like a whole lot of effort to move a big stack of heavy books, right? Is it possible that a ghost could do something like that? I've never seen that happen...but I'm hardly an authority on that stuff.

Also, my niece has been doing another strange thing. She seems to be seeing people. She will point into an empty room and call Gammy, Gammy, Hi Gammy! (Gammy=Grandma) when there's nobody there. Sure she could be pretending, but I'm not sure if that kind of make believe is consistent, developmentally, with her age. She's 1year, 8months old.

Anyhoo, strange stuff. Any insights? I'm just not sure what to make of all of this and I don't know what to tell my sister. She's really worried. I don't necessarily think she needs to worry, but I don't have any answers for her either. Any thoughts?

To have little objects moved here and there around the house,or going suddenly missing, from what I have heard (and on occasion experienced)  is not that unusual. Moved furniture I have not personally heard about but it's not exactly a different phenomenon so going with it logically, i don't see why it can't happen as well.

Tough, I would point my figurative finger more toward an household spirit or fairy folk ... they are known for causing things like that on occasion and even appearing camouflaged as something  else, so your niece might have seen the spirit posing as a known face or just appearing as an old woman.

Just my two cents.;)

That never even crossed my mind. It's something to think about, though. In any case, as far as  know, nothing has happened since then. It's been quiet around there. If it starts up again, I'll look into it further.

I wanted to add, it's really frustrating that none of this ever happens when I'm there. If it did, I might have something to go on. A vibe or something...

The happenings here ebb and flow. Sometimes we can go months without anything happening, other times it can be constant.

I'm currently missing a brand new alcohol ink pen I bought for an art product that was left on my hall chest. I've had the room upside down looking for it ( they are not cheap!) and it's gone. I've asked for it back and I'm sure I'll get it but quite where I'll find it remains to be seen.

Growing up something always moved things in my parents house. There would be days when all 7 of us were sitting at the dinning room table and my moms purse which was sitting by the wall when we all sat down was gone when we were done eating. Nobody saw it move and nobody got up. We would find it in the bedroom. Shoes would move the same way. We never thought anything of it.  I don't see why a stack of books would be different.

As for seeing people, kids and pets tend to see more than we do so I think it is possible that she is seeing something.

Yeah, that's pretty consistent with what I've read and heard about these things. I won't be surprised if it starts up again.

If she is, at least she isn't afraid. That's something.

I think that's a very good indicator.   Did anyone look through these books?  Perhaps there's something in them that the spirit needs someone to see?  I've had this sort of thing happen on several occasions.l

Well, I grew up in houses with spirits in it. There are stories abound of ghosts doing things at my grandmother's house. They're family, and so never do anything malicious, but the like to tease a lot. Moving books would be nothing new in my experience. I've had books, eyeglasses and even my cell phone disappear and reappear once I asked for it.

Two really great examples of ghosts moving things: I had a 10 ounce glass of water. Sitting on my bedroom nightstand. The family went out to see a movie, so no one was in the house, and my bedroom door had been closed to keep the cat out. When we get back, I go to my room and low and behold, my full, 10 ounce glass of water is on the floor at the foot of my bed. Not a drop spilled. This happened twice.

At the top of the steps, at my grandmother's is a dresser, with two drawers. When the drawers were pulled out fully, they made a loud 'clack' from hitting the end of the track. For a whole summer, often times, when I went upstairs, the bottom draw would be opened. I would close it, and then after doing whatever I went upstairs for, go back downstairs. This only happened when i went upstairs. This one day, every single time I went upstairs, even if I did it multiple times in a short time span, this drawer would be open. I got so irritated, that I yelled at them, "stop fucking with that drawer!". Then, I heard a thud and a loud 'clack' as if someone had yanked open the drawer very hard. I stomped up the stairs.....and the drawer was closed. The ghost was of my grandmother's husband, my grandfather, who was known to be a practical joker.

So yea, it is possible for them to move objects, and it could be a relative. As for your niece, at a year old, it's likely that she did see a spirit. My 1 year old son talks to ours, and the dog has often followed the house spirits around, one of which is my first dog that passed many years ago
Your love is my drug and I\'m glad to get high
I never want to come down, I don\'t want to be cured
You light me up like a fire, and I burn ever sweetly
