Where can I read about pagan mythologies?
« on: December 21, 2015, 10:23:47 pm »
I had my calling and I've been told to start my search for my path. So I thought why not start with mythologies. I narrowed it down to Anglo-Saxon, Gaelic Polytheism, and Norse Paganism. And danke for your time.

Best wishes,

http://www.maryjones.us/ctexts/index.html I've found this to be a good starting point for Gaelic Polytheism, as it has entries on various gods and goddesses, as well as a plethora of old texts.

One thing to remember about Sacred-Texts is that do to copyright laws, many of their scholarly texts are from the late 1800s and early 1900s.  This means that their conclusions have to be taken with a large grain of salt.  Some of the books of myths from the era almost have accuracy issues as they were sanitized of things people then might find objectionable.

If you want a book source on Gaelic mythology then Lady Gregory's book Gods and Fighting Men is excellent, it is the most-true-to-the-original.
